Should the Second Amendment be repealed? Mark Dice created a video to illustrate that some Americans are more than willing to give up their right to bear arms.
Dice likes to stir up trouble, it seems. His website says he is "occasionally...able to bypass the mainstream media gate-keepers and get his message out to the masses." In this case, he created a fake petition, which "proves if you promote an idea in an enthusiastic, non-threatening manner, you can get pretty much anyone to agree to damn near anything, as long as it doesn't cost them any money," as reported by Michael Dorstewitz of bizpacreview.
The video is startling. Mark Dice approaches random people and asks them to sign a petition that would repeal the Second Amendment to the Constitution. While they are signing, he makes statements that should have given people pause.
For example, he casually says
- "we want to take the guns away from the...right wing extremists and make sure that only the illegal unregistered guns stay in the streets..." and
- "we'll have a door to door gun confiscation against the white people..." and
- "only the criminals will have guns"
Did the people who signed this petition know what they were signing? Did they feel pressured? It is so bizarre that people would be so willing to sign away their right to protect themselves. At one point, Dice said, "only the military and police need to have guns, we can trust them; they've never done anything wrong." One guy even said, "You don't have to convince us, my friend!" It would be funny if it was not so pathetic.
