The gun control debate has been raging in the wake of the Sandy Hook tragedy in Connecticut, one of the strictest anti-gun states. A video with celebrities asking for tighter gun regulations has been "updated," to include scenes of their corresponding violent images in films.
The "Demand a Plan" Campaign from the Mayors Against Illegal Guns Coalition put together a video of celebrities using their star status to push their political agendas by demanding harsher legislation surrounding firearms, despite the fact that studies have shown that "as gun ownership increases, murder and suicide decreases." As usual, political opportunism accompanies every high-profile shooting, as calls to "exploit" the tragedies by pushing an anti-gun agenda bombard America.
As reported by CBS News, Hollywood has been "sensitive to the link between glorified violence on screen and real-life tragedies like the Aurora shooting and Newtown." Well, of course they are sensitive. Despite studies which show that "prolonged exposure to gratuitous violence in the media can escalate subsequent hostile behaviors and, among some viewers, foster greater acceptance of violence as a means of conflict resolution," why let facts get in the way? The actors would not want to lose their cash cow! Better to blame the Second Amendment.
Gun control legislation does not stop those who do not follow the law.

Great Piece. ;]
In areas where many people may have a gun, the violence is WAY down.
There has never been a mass shooting at a gun range, or a gun show.
They still happen in NYC where guns are banned, in schools where guns are banned, on domestic military bases where guns are banned, in thearters and malls that have banned guns etc, etc, etc.
Pick a place with strict gun laws, and violent crime still happens - with illegal guns, knives, Gasoline and a match, ball bats, tire irons.
You cant blame every penis in the world for a rape.
Taking away the 'tool' does nothing to stop the crime.
Still a violent crime.
Still worthy of the death penalty in my opinion.
In Germany, again Violent crime has risen most years since the bans.
In Syria, gun ownership is banned, yet we had Benghazi.
Violent. sickos are violent sickos.
Take away one tool, they find another.
Okus Zip guins can be made easily - bombs are easy ....
Yes it you ban all cars, you eliminate drunk drivers .... but was it the fault of the car and car manufacturers?
Ok - then ban booze - no more drunk drivers................. no that doesnt work ......
The problem is now how the lilled, but why they killed.
AS long as people focus oin the 'how', they will ne4ver solve the 'why' - and it will continue to get worse.
Plus it has been proven repeatedly that criminals do NOT want to be shot - the more law-abiding people with a gun, the lower the crime rate.
Beacuse we hate violence?
And yes, the "why" is much harder - but is the only way to solve the problem.
Everything else is simply a transference,
Treating the sores of a leper, instead of finding the cause.
The truth is that more people owning legal guns, creates a reduction of violent crime of all kinds.
It happenes because criminals are basically all cowards, empowered only because their weapons are bigger, faster etc. No different that any bully.
A swift punch in the nose, and a school yard bully stops attacking you.
Putting up signs that may as well say "We are unarmed, and vulnerable" when everyone knows the police will take at least 5 minutes to get there ........
I want every person in the world to think that I MAY have a gun - it makes no matter if I do or not - just that I might!
The following letter, written by U.S. Marine Joshua Boston and headlined “No ma’am.,†was posted in the CNN iReport on Dec. 27 with the included note from the producer and photo. It has struck a nerve with many and is being circulated around social media venues like Twitter and Facebook.
Senator Dianne Feinstein,
I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.
I am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the flesh and blood of America.
I am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.
I will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.
We, the people, deserve better than you.
Respectfully Submitted,
Joshua Boston

It's a "Let them eat cake" deal in my eyes, basically; "Let them hire experts" ; )
And talk about hypocrites. They star in violent movies and, as you pointed out, many have their own armed guards.
Amazing.
