The abortion facts and the scandal that came out about Representative Scott DesJarlais were not enough to stop him from getting reelected, thanks to House Republicans. DesJarlais is an anti-abortion doctor who—get this—had sex with one of his patients and then pressured her into getting an abortion.
DesJarlais joins the proud ranks of several other conservatives that win the 'Hypocrite of the Year' award. Among them, Pastor Ted Haggard who was a vehement opposer of homosexuality and gay rights from his church pulpit, while having sex with at least one male prostitute on the side. Lisa Biron is also a member of this club. She was the anti-gay lawyer who was arrested for taking pictures and video of teenage girls having sex.
DesJarlais was broke and losing ground in the election as the scandal and the abortion facts surrounding him came out. Democratic challenger Eric Stewart was looking like a shoo-in for the seat, but then the GOP stepped in and donated more than $44,800 to DesJarlais, which allowed him to keep his seat with a easy lead over Stewart. All but two of the Republicans who donated were members of the Republican Study Committee, a conservative Group.
Court transcripts released from DesJarlais' divorce showed that he had not only had an affair with one patient, he was a serial philanderer with both coworkers and patients. Court documents also revealed that his wife had undergone two abortions. One was for medical reasons, but the other was because their relationship was on rocky ground. But, apparently the Republicans would rather have him keep his seat than lose it to a Democratic candidate. Probably because of his good morals.

Anti-gay rights: except that so many of them seem to be engaged not only in homosexual activities, but homosexual activities of the seediest kind.
Anti-abortion: unless it is convenient for them to be arranging or getting an abortion.
Christian: in name only, as they are opposed to everything that comes under the heading of "What would Jesus do" and dedicated to trying to push a camel through the eye of a needle.
Prudent stewards of the public purse: except that Republicans are terrible stewards of the public purse, running up huge deficits and leaving recessions in their wake constantly.
Family values: Newt Gingrich? Herman Cain? DesJarlais? McCain? Insert name of any other Republican caught cheating on his wife, dumping her while she battles illness, and otherwise acting like a bounder. Let's not forget that they'd just as soon push poor families into the sea.
Freedom and personal liberty: Patriot Act.
It is really hard to understand why they get any support from any faction, given that they tell the truth about nothing, least of all about what they really stand for: the corporatist agenda.
However, give the Teapublicans time and they will come up with a long list of Democrats who are guilty of womanizing. The list will consist of one name written a thousand times, that being, Clinton, Clinton, Clinton etc etc etc as their rebuttal. Believe me, it never fails to happen.
(Pure Speculation) This man is so evil, that it would not suprise me to find out that he, himself, performed both abortions on his wife and the one on his patient. Hell, he's the kind of perverted bastard that would probably charge the un named patient's insurance company for the procedure and would use his wife's two abortions as income tax deductions. (I finally did it, I joined the Republican and Libertarian extremist in creating a conspiracy theory)
Go ahead, publish your list for Lee C.
I double dare you, Hear me, I double dare you to do it !!!
Scott DesJarlais' wife chose to have an abortion because, according to him, "things were not going well" for them. But for other women are in situations where things aren't going well for them, he doesn't want them to have a choice.
