Hillary Clinton resigned from her Secretary of State position as she planned to do several months ago (sorry for you, conspiracy theorists, that think her resignation is somehow tied to Benghazi). When asked about her future, she says, "Maybe I'll get a decorating show." This from the same woman who responded to a question about her job in 1992 with, "I suppose I could have stayed home and baked cookies and had teas, but what I decided to do was to fulfill my profession which I entered before my husband was in public life." Doesn't sound like the kind of woman who wants to stay home and decorate or join the likes of Snooki as a reality TV star.
President Obama hasn't even been sworn in for his second term and already the media is speculating about the next president. It is sort of like seeing Christmas decorations for sale in the store before Halloween! Why not celebrate one holiday at a time? And one president at a time?
Since 1969, America has seen two terms of Republicans followed by a one-term Democrat followed by three terms of Republicans, then a two-term Democrat. That Democrat left Washington with a balanced budget and a surplus. Then America nearly saw its demise with two terms of another Republican. A Democrat that has just been elected to a second term is still trying to turn things around. It's not likely that another Democrat will win especially with the deep hatred, racism, and pure ignorance displayed towards the current Democratic president.
Hillary Clinton is a determined woman, though. Although she claims she recently read a decorating magazine and enjoys watching "Love It or List It," it is hard to picture her sitting on the sidelines and letting America fall back into Republican hands without a fight.
If America wants to keep moving forward, a historic first female president is certainly fitting to follow America's first black male president. And, there's not another woman alive that is suitable for the job.
