Obama Projected as Winner of 2012 Election

Are you ready for four more years of Obama? If not, oh well! The current POTUS is the projected winner after an epic showdown between him and Mitt Romney. It seems that this was an election of reason versus broken policies and ideology -- and reason came out on top.

Of course Mitt Romney is (as of now) refusing to concede -- showing that he is a sore loser, much like Al Gore was when he lost to Bush. That's fine, because the rest of the nation is pulling behind President Barack Obama for the next four years.

In addition to this latest amazing news, the states of Washington and Colorado legalized the recreational use of marijuana and both Maryland and Maine approved measures to legalize marriage equality.

All around November 6, 2012 was a night of history, and while some people are angry, it's good to see a positive impact being made. Homosexuals, women and minorities of all walks of life cast their votes today and their voices were heard.

Now it's time for the republicans to rethink their entire platform.

Al Gore didn't lose to Bush, though. The election was handed to Bush by the Supreme Court. It was a completely different circumstance. Otherwise, great piece!

Reno is right. It was handed to Bush by the Supreme Court after it was delivered to them by Florida Sec. of State Katherine Harris, who was, of course, the official running the election, AND she was chairperson of the Bush Campaign in Florida.

I briefly changed the channel over to Fox Noise (something I haven't done in I don't know how many years) and witnessed their group of misinformed broadcasters having a not-so-great night. Their salty tears of defeat are very sweet.

Yeah, I switched on Fox just to gloat, something I normally don't do, but with dishonest TV reporters, it was easy! Plus, something tells me, they're not done with Benghazi yet!

Oh, definitely not. Since they couldn't beat him fair and square (and considering the voter suppression attempt, I use that term loosely) they will now march on in lockstep, fabricating Benghazi stories of deceit and dishonor by Obama's administration, in a desperate, pathetic attempt to impeach. They pretty much already showed their hand on that, dishonestly calling Benghazi "Obama's Watergate".

Right now, they need time to figure a way to spin the results of the election into a win for Romney, which they more than likely, will at the very least, try to do. If none can be found, they will use their old standby challenge and resort to blaming the results of the election on voter intimidation by the NBP and/or the NAACP at the polling stations or illegal immigrant voting or dead people voting, or multiple times voting or rigged voting machines or some other ridiculous excuse.

Whatever the excuse(s) they decide to use, when they do come out from the dark closet they have retreated into, you can bet that they will not go down quietly with grace, but will begin posting enough challenges and/or excuses to keep the debate alive for the next four years.

The picture posted by Chelsea in her article, says it all for Democrats.

The picture posted by Tony in his comment, says it all for Republicans.

In all contest, there are winners and loosers. We know that we are good winners, let's hope that Republicans will be good loosers. Both here on GNP and throughout America.

The real problem for the Republicans now, is not so much that Obama won most of the battleground states, but they failed to do what they could have easily done - take back the Senate. Most of the seats up for election were Democratic and therefore at risk. But only one (so far) was flipped to the Republicans. When idiots like Mourdock are allowed to run on the Republican ticket, this isnt so surprising. The question is whether the regular Republicans will wake up to the enormous danger that the radical Tea Party and extremist Libertarians in their midst pose, not only to the country, but to the future of their party. Lets hope so, and lets hope they do it fast, before those people throw us all over the cliff.

I think that "mainstream" Republicans (what a concept) fear that disavowing the Tea Party will split the Party so badly that they won't be able to win even in their own "safe" constituencies, and that the Republican Party will be destroyed... ironic when one considers that the destruction of the Democratic Party was what Karl "Doughboy" Rove intended when he operated his sock puppet Dubya.

I suspect that you're right, Rory. I wish I'd kept some copies of their articles and comments, because I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them are being deleted by their authors.

And I wouldn't be surprised if many of them insist that they weren't Romney supporters at all. I remember how hard it was four years ago to find anybody who'd admit to voting for Bush. I suspect we'll see that again. They'll pretend they never liked Romney, and that if only [insert far-right Teabagger loser here] would've won the Republican nomination, President Obama would've lost in that Republican landslide they were counting on.

Morning at Gather today brought an especially unpleasant Big Mama. She referred to social liberals with a number of unpleasant pejoratives.

(I know what pejoratives are, because our dad liked things really spicy. So we had to consume a lot of them growing up.)
