Ohio Secretary of State Jon Husted and his Republican thugs are trying to steal this election. He is suppressing legal votes any way he can. He gave a new directive Friday evening that could toss out thousands of legal provisional ballots. This slimeball has been pulling out all the stops to make sure that fellow Republican Mitt Romney wins this important state. It's disgraceful!
Husted already cut the number of early voting days in Ohio. In this election year there were 9 fewer earlier voting days than in 2008. And of those early voting days this year, only one weekend was provided for working class voters to have their vote counted. In Cuyahoga county alone, the number of early votes counted is 17,762 fewer than in 2008.
Just to get that one weekend, Democrats had to take the case to the U.S. Supreme Court! Republicans wanted to make the polls open this weekend to military voters only. What an absurd request. If the polls are open, they are open to all. Just another lame attempt by Republicans to quiet the 47 percent that Mitt Romney doesn't care about. He doesn't care if they can feed their families but he cares enough to keep them away from the polls. Sorry, Mitt, you can send their jobs to China but you can't send their votes away.
Husted's latest trick is in violation of Ohio law. Specifically, Ohio Rev. Code § 3505.181(B)(6) which states that "the appropriate local election official" verifies that the proper identification is provided when casting a provisional ballot. Husted's directive puts that burden on the voter. In his new order given at 6 p.m. on Friday, "the Secretary is now ordering that county boards of election must reject provisional ballots when the identification information contained in Step 2 of the ballot affirmation form 12-B is incomplete."
Step 2 requires you to enter the last four digits of your social security number or your entire driver's license number. The third option is to show the precinct worker an additional form of ID such as your military ID card or a current utility bill.
Provisional ballots aren't counted until November 17. If the election is as close as the pundits are saying, the provisional ballots could affect the outcome of the election.
The provisional ballot is a right provided by Help America Vote Act of 2002. If your name doesn't appear on the list at your precinct or your name is misspelled or if you don't have an acceptable form of ID, you may cast a provisional ballot instead of being turned away without your vote being counted.
Jon Husted is just another dirty Republican doing everything he can to sabotage progress. Here's hoping that Ohio goes solid Obama BLUE!

It will come down to turn-out for a specific candidate.
Sadly, this election hinges on apathy.
This is the apathy factor.
Romney did not say "he did not care about the 47%", he said the that he could not get the vote of the 47% that have been nurtured and fed by the left so he was not going to try to win their approval and their votes.
There is a difference for those that care
Romney: There are 47 percent of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47 percent who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe that government has a responsibility to care for them, who believe that they are entitled to health care, to food, to housing, to you name it. That that's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. And I mean, the president starts off with 48, 49, 48—he starts off with a huge number. These are people who pay no income tax. Forty-seven percent of Americans pay no income tax. So our message of low taxes doesn't connect. And he'll be out there talking about tax cuts for the rich. I mean that's what they sell every four years. And so my job is not to worry about those people—I'll never convince them that they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives. What I have to do is convince the 5 to 10 percent in the center that are independents that are thoughtful, that look at voting one way or the other depending upon in some cases emotion, whether they like the guy or not, what it looks like. I mean, when you ask those people…we do all these polls—I find it amazing—we poll all these people, see where you stand on the polls, but 45 percent of the people will go with a Republican, and 48 or 4…
Please indicate in that passage the point where Romney says he does not care about these people, and realize the entire passage is about trying to convince people to vote for Romney so don't pull a single phrase out of context and believe you have proof.
Good luck.
