Soon-to-be president Mitt Romney has finally come out making statements on his opposition to any type of new gun control measures. In a speech touching on a number of subjects from healthcare to taxes, Romney stated that he did not believe that America needed any new laws restricting the Second Amendment rights of Americans.
The Romney campaign, in a statement, further clarified stating that he recognized the economic benefits involved in the firearms industry, including the funding of wildlife and habitat conservation projects. And, unlike the current president, Romney will fully enforce all the laws on the books regardless of personal opinion.
It is nice to see that Americans' Second Amendment rights will no longer be the target of a power hungry socialist intent on denying them their rights guaranteed in the Constitution. No longer will Americans be fearful of a federal government employing sneaky, underhanded measures to take away guns from law-abiding citizens. The upcoming election of Mitt Romney will remove this threat from American society.
President Obama may have made statements talking about how he doesn't intend to impose any further restrictions on guns in America, but his actions have told a different story altogether. His unwavering support of the U.N. arms control treaty, his seeming diabolical involvement in the Fast and Furious debacle, and his many years of opposition to the Second Amendment all tell the truth about this president.
Obama's critics may be right when they fear that he will outlaw guns completely through small, incremental steps which slowly restrict gun rights until there are no more rights to own guns. But the recent debate successes, by both Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan, have put the Republicans on the road to victory in November. And hopefully Republicans will gain control of the Congress as well as the White House, giving them a chance to put right all the damage that Obama and his Democrat allies have done to this great nation.
A Romney win in November will guarantee that American will continue to enjoy their Second Amendment rights to own guns, which, despite the platitudes from liberals, is the cornerstone of America democracy. The only thing that can absolutely guarantee that the government will not become tyrannical, imposing its ideology on the American people regardless of their will, are the guns which Obama seems to fear. And he a good cause to fear Americans and their guns, they will resist his attempts to impose a socialist-style society on all America.
But after the election in November, Barack Obama and his liberal-socialist nightmare will be a thing of the past, a bad memory. Gun control will once again be relegated to the out-of-the-way backrooms of Democratic political operatives, a dream that they will never realize. And Americans can be secure in their freedom, liberty, and rights guaranteed in the Constitution.
