Harry Reid accused Mitt Romney of not filing his taxes for the past 10 years, basing his allegation on an unnamed source. The source, of course, has turned out to be a liar. Or was there ever a source?
Now that Romney's accountant released a letter stating that Mitt Romney has indeed paid his taxes, has Reid apologized? Of course not!
The letter, as well as his 2010 and 2011 tax returns, released on Romney's website proves that Romney has not only paid taxes for the past 10 years, but has given a considerable portion to charity and his lowest "effective federal personal income tax rate" was 13.66%. The average rate was 20.2%.
Reid avoided addressing his previous charge (which inspired Glenn Beck to speculate whether Reid is a pedophile at the time) that an unnamed source told him that Romney did not pay taxes for 10 years. However, as CNN reports, "Reid referred to Romney's returns as completed by 'accounting wizards' and charged in his Friday statement that the question remains, 'what else in those returns has Romney manipulated?'"
Speaking of pathetic, House minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Senate majority leader Harry Reid (D-NV) and Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL), the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee (DNC), have all refused to release their tax returns.
Currently, the world is on fire. The mainstream media is complicit in dictating the narrative away from that fire (e.g., China may be going to war with Japan, there are anti-American protests happening around the world, terrorism is abundant, food and gas prices are skyrocketing, and um... the economy) and toward random and unsubstantiated accusations toward Mitt Romney.
