Mitt Romney may have met secretly with David Petraeus in New Hampshire recently to discuss the viability of him joining the Republican ticket as the vice-presidential candidate.
What is your opinion? Do you believe the four-star United States Army general would make a good veep?
Apparently, President Barack Obama told a top fundraiser that he believes Romney might name the Central Intelligence Director as his running mate. Now, there is no official confirmation to this story, so don't overreact to the news.
As the next few weeks drag on, you will hear all sorts of rumors about who's going to fill the VP slot, but you never know what to believe. Romney will probably wait until the last-minute to announce, to let the suspense build. John McCain waited until five days before the convention to choose Sarah Palin.
But, Petraeus would be a canny pick for Romney. Although some believe the 59-year-old former general is a closet liberal, he could have cross-party appeal.
Whatever you think of the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, he has impeccable credentials, and has been praised by politicians of all stripes. In fact, the current White House administration once called him a great military strategist. Obama definitely has reason to fear a Romney-Petraeus ticket.

...would be a mistake
...how 'bout them there weekly FAUX outrages the demo's are attempting?
every one has crashed and burned. Each time when the dust settles, we're still faced with Obama's FAILED economy and NO jobs.
OBAMA is the MISTAKE. Obama is the FAILURE.
...exactly my reservations, he's a progressive, only being a military officer has kept his views from being known.
...forget the "cross-party appeal" and in stark contrast to the leftist democrats, stand on conservative principals. I know Romney will have a bit of a problem with that because he tends to be leaning towards the progressive end of the spectrum. Romney needs a running mate with some passion to balance out his rather bland personality.
What more proof does anyone need that right wingers can only see a small arc of the political spectrum?
By whos standard, yours ???
Iraq armed forces led by Saddam Hussein would have done so with their imaginary Navy (real one was destroyed in the Gulf War of 1991) and armed with their imaginary weapons of mass destruction (The IEAE had confirmed in 2002 that no such weapons existed in Iraq)
Wow, weren't we lucky to have a Republican administration in office, ready and able to lead America into a war which was only a fabrication of their own imagination. (There are times when I believe that the imaginary World of Disney is sane place, when compared to the fantasy mind of a Republican)
