Mitt Romney is an embarrassment on Palinesque levels regarding his total lack of diplomacy, which may just be one of the final nails in the coffin that is his presidential bid. Hey, the more he embarrasses himself (and the US) the more likely President Barack Obama will be elected for a second term come November. It's apparent that various countries around the world favor Barack Obama over the different conservative candidates that are trying (poorly) to replace him. Mittens has proven to be a bountiful source of entertainment these days with his many gaffes in England surrounding the Olympics, but his visit to Poland was just as interesting.
When Mitt Romney arrived in northern Poland on Monday, he was greeted by a group of citizens who shouted "Obama! Obama!" at him. Of course, Mittens didn't stay long, considering he was certainly not welcome by the Polish citizens. He walked away to his next meeting with anti-communist "icon" Lech Walesa. It's surprising that he didn't offer at least one insensitive "Polock" joke considering he's not so good with words as he has displayed a lot lately.
The citizens of Poland shouting their preference for President Barack Obama proves a couple of things.
- U.S. politics affects people worldwide.
- Even people who can't vote in U.S. elections want to see Obama in a second term.
Here's to hoping enough people are as smart in 2012 as they were in 2008, but it's still just too early to be sure. Mittens may be barking up the wrong tree by encouraging Polish-Americans to vote for him, especially since it was displayed that the people of Poland just don't like the guy. Then again, who really does?
