Some Palin trash blew into The Woodlands area on Friday and kicked up a stir by showing up at a local Chick-fil-A restaurant. Look, anyone with more than five brain cells knows exactly why Sarah and Todd bought some of the greasy grossness that is pumped out by the bigoted franchise, and it wasn't for the flavorful cuisine. It was to further push the message of bigotry and anti-liberty while throwing some of their reality show dosh at the franchise.
In case you've been living under a rock these days, Chick-fil-A is under quite a bit of scrutiny for its stance against marriage equality and rights for gays in general. The money this jackass franchise makes goes straight to Christian hate groups, including those with figures who've publicly expressed extremely hateful rhetoric against entire groups and cultures. That's why many people are boycotting this mass purveyor of greasy hate-chicken.
It's also no surprise to see figures on the conservative spectrum come out in support of Chick-fil-A. Of course those like Huckabee and Sarah Palin say they're in support for the business's First Amendment rights. Yeah right! These people want to reach out to their fan base; their narrow-minded, equality-hating, bible-thumping fan base.
Naturally there are conservative voters who are "upset" with the boycott against Chick-fil-A, calling it unfair while demanding that their First Amendment rights be respected. Look, that's not what this boycott is about. This franchise has every right to exist in all its hatemongering glory. However, Americans also have the right to boycott and speak out against the company. Americans have the right to protest its existence in en mass, and Americans have the right to "vote with their dollars." If certain people of the anti-gay-rights variety have a problem with that, well, they can just go to church and pray for an old-fashioned smiting. Newsflash -- it won't happen.

If you don't agree with me you are a racist...bigot! RACIST!!!! BIGOT!!!
Q: Did Chick Fil-a fire someone for being a homosexual? Did Chick Fil-a refuse to hire some one for being gay?
A: Nope
No bigotry at Chick Fil-a, nada!
Derp.
What else are you going to say? You can't support your bigotry accusation.
Not in the Chick Fil-A corporation or in the Palin family.
But to you it's NOT important that bigotry really exists or not what is important is that you make the accusation in attacking those who do not support your secular progressive agenda.
lol
J, I think you have a point there.......But we already know don't we?
lol
An American who truly believes in freedom of speech will work tirelessly to defend the rights of every person to express his beliefs. We need to respect everyone's rights, not just those who agree with us.
But you're entitled to believe what you want, however wrong your beliefs might be :)
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_of_assembly
So you don't believe in the freedom of assembly? What else in the U.S. constitution do you "not believe in?"
;)
"respectful" isn't a part of the right to assembly either, btw. It's the right to peacefully assemble. And that's precisely what this boycott is. People are peacefully assembling in essence (not even physically) to encourage people who respect the liberties of homosexual Americans to NOT spend their money at a business that then donates that money to groups who support the suppression of gay American rights.
That's not bullying.
But again.. you're free to "believe" whatever you want. The facts differ from your beliefs, however.

My comments are limited to respecting freedom. The subject of the boycott is another matter.
Adjective:
Free from disturbance; tranquil.
Not involving war or violence.
re·spect·ful/riˈspektfÉ™l/
Adjective:
Feeling or showing deference and respect.
ahem...
And with that, I'll be ducking out until someone who at least knows the differences between "peace" and "respect" posts a comment.
Have a good one.
A disrespectful protest probably wouldn't be peaceful.
And honestly I remember a whole lot of boycotting going on by good ole American conservatives when the Dixie Chicks badmouthed the U.S over in the E.U..
Not saying that you have changed your position on this at all Jan, but for those who are whining about the proposed boycott they should try to remember back a few years.
Gotta admire Antoine Dodson's position on it though,...Not a sheeple like most gay progressives who react with mock outrage just so they can trash on people who they think are standing in the way of their agenda.
that made my head hurt...
(sarcasm)
Chelsea.....just....damnit!!!! LOL!!!
I think two things will happen as a result of this:. Chuck-fil-A will actually do better as a chain as many homophobic rally to buy their product, and; support for gay marriage will rise nationwide.
:)
I'm glad that there is a backlash. I only wish that Conservatives would stay out of other people's business. They are the hypocrites as they rally against same sex marriage while they, themselves, are the most closeted homosexuals on the planet.
I used to patronize Chick-fil-a probably only 4 to 5 times per year. Now I will not be able to enjoy their food because their bigotry would leave a bad taste in my mouth.
I just can't stand discrimination, bigotry and hatred. We are all Americans first. That should stand for something.
It's so nice to know that so many propose to know the mind of God - sometimes I wonder if they can even find a church that's good enough - or big enough - to hold all their hate and bigotry. It must be nice for those who just know they are so perfect they've got a straight path to Heaven.
Stay out of people's bedrooms. Stay out of women's vaginas.
If 'Bigotty Chicken' want to disparage those of whom they disagree, then stay out of communities that have approved same-sex marriage.
"I sorry I hurt your wuttle feelings". But if you can't handle it you get off of it.
So stop it Maree. Stop it with your little tantrums. It is simply foolish as YOU act like a first grader.
Exactly how does the homophobia of Muslim countries excuse it in Americans?
And why do conservatives claim to be all for personal liberty when they work so hard to impose their narrow religious beliefs on everyone else?
I live in the United States of America. I paid over 8000 dollars in taxes last year and didn't complain about it or try to avoid it by hiding it in the Cayman Islands, Switzerland or Bermuda.
I am a true American who loves his country and it's President.
CAN YOU OR MITT ROMNEY SAY THE SAME?
FourMore Years Jul 30, 2012, 7:30pm EDT. BRAVO Lloyd, well said! You know you're right when met with so much resistance and disdain from these two, maree and j!
For nearly four years they've done everything in their power to undermine, weaken and discredit a sitting President. Now they cry foul when someone like me reacts to their un-American behavior.
They can't come up with a Republican candidate palatable to the majority of the American electorate so they are suppressing the votes of millions and redistricting on a daily basis.
In other words, they are trying to steal another Presidential election.
Chelsea Hoffman Jul 30, 2012, 7:38pm EDT. I'm trying to figure out what's wrong with being from England, actually.... That was kind of an ignorant comment.
Chelsea, you must realize that these people are still fighting the Civil War and our independence from Great Britain.
They actually believe that they were the original inhabitants of our nation. It's their country; not to be shared by anyone but those with extremist views.
There's a thing called Karma and it's a bitch. Watch out.
Vic Damico Jul 30, 2012, 7:46pm EDT. Why on Earth would you feel compelled to tell us what you paid in taxes last year?
Because I paid it and didn't BITCH about it.
I think the problem is that too many people fought for independence from their minds. :(
I pay an assload in taxes every year too... oh how i miss the days of getting tax returns, but those don't exist when you work for yourself :( :( :(
Romney has no real convictions. The only thing he is firm on is NOT RELEASING HIS TAX RETURNS. THAT LEADS ME TO BELIEVE HE HAS SOMETHING TO HIDE.
But you probably need a popup book to grasp that :(
First of all, boycotting a business or corporation for any reason, is none of those things. Such demonstrating of one's displeasure with the ideology and/or actions of a business, is only choosing to exersize one's American basic rights as are expressed and granted under/by the Bill of Rights within the U.S. Constitution.
To the point: I am boycotting all Chick-Fil-A corporation's owned business and franchises not because of the owners personal nor religious beliefs. Because, I personally do not give a damn what the owner's personal, political and/or religious preferences are. I am doing so, because a portion of the net proceeds earned by that corporation has been spent to encourage the changing of established laws to discriminate against a specific group of American people. This type of seeking to have others of a different belief, lawfully made to comply with the teaching of his religion, is a direct interference with rights granted and guaranteed within the U.S. Constitution.
In my personal opinion, using any money earned by a corporation to promote the passing and institution of such discriminating laws against specific groups of people is bigotry at it's most horrific and evil employment. To do so in the name of one's chosen God and/or religion, is pure blasphemous evil at it's worst and has no place in our society.
Mr. Cathy, his family and his staff of laborers throughout America are free to hold whatever religious and/or personal beliefs they so desire. However, no person, no group of citizens, no business owner(s) nor any corporation(s) has the right to force their individual and/or collective beliefs, religious or otherwise, on others. In truth, that is exactly what Mr. Cathy is trying to accomplish by using gained financial proceeds from his CFA business to promote the enactment of new laws, both here in America and in a foreign country, which discriminate against other people. Essentially attempting to force his religious beliefs on those who hold different views and beliefs.
I wonder, how Mr. Cathy and his supporters would react if a corporation owned by a Muslim or for that matter, any other different religious belief, should use their business proceeds in an attempt to change laws which would force Mr. Cathy and those who share his religious beliefs to comply with and adhere to the Muslim followers religious beliefs or parts of that religions doctrine.
It would appear that both Mr. Cathy and those who hold the same religious beliefs, have forgotten that there is a freedom from imposed any religion and/or specific religious beliefs in our country. (i.e. Americans are free to believe as they so choose) I have heard all the so called arguements professed by religious zealots, such as, "saving the sinner from his sins" etc. etc. etc. But, who are and what gives these religious promoters the right to decide what is sin and who is a sinner. Once again, it would seem that Mr. Cathy and those who share his religious beliefs, have forgotten that according to their own religious doctrine, it is God and God alone who shall make such judgements.
Further, the CFA corporation has also used financial earnings in an attempt to promote the institutionalizing of laws in the foreign country of Uganda. Laws which if implemented, will not only criminalize all citizens of that country who are of a specfic sexual orientation, but may result in such peoples execution. For me, anyone who can view promoting of such demonsterously unfair laws as being within the realm of saving one's soul from eternal hell, are as evil as the Satan they claim to hate and fear. Further, IMO, by supporting such laws, these religious zealots are actually promoting evil, not fighting it, and are certainly not promoting the Christian faith as I remember it being taught to me in my youth.

I just wish this food chain was in my geographic location so I could avoid going there.
As to Sarah and Todd Palin, what else would one expect from grandparents who's grandson refers to his Aunt (their daughter) as being a "Faggot" The child did not pick that word out of the air to use in a sentence. It would take numerous times of hearing a word for a four year old child to not only remember how to pronounce the word, but in what contexts the word could be used. (i.e. as a subname when speaking to another person)
The child's mother, (Sarah & Todd's daughter) certainly did not pick the word out of the sky either. She must also have been acquainted with it's use in her childhood and now appearantly and customarially uses the word when carrying on conversations in front her child.
The mother of this bigoted family was promoted by the RNC as a Vice Pesidential candidate. Go figure !!!
Thank you, your acknowledgement is always appreciated.
"anyone with more than five brain cells"
"this jackass franchise"
"their narrow-minded, equality-hating, bible-thumping fan base."
"I for one respect an educated person more than a blindly opinionated person"
"the greasy grossness that is pumped out by the bigoted franchise"
"this mass purveyor of greasy hate-chicken."
"If certain people of the anti-gay-rights variety have a problem with that, well, they can just go to church and pray for an old-fashioned smiting"
For someone speaking against hatred for entire groups, your presentation does not exactly scream, "I am in search of peace."
Chelsea, I meant no disrespect.
That's why I'm glad you're one of my few "conservative" friends ;)
I haven't been to a chick-fil-a in years.. they don't have them here in Vegas as far as I know. I used to love them and spent quite a bit of $$ there in my teen years. I'm sick to my stomach knowing that money I spent went toward these hate groups. I'm pretty angry about it.
And yes, I realize some of my speech is terse against what I deem as unfit in our society. But it isn't like I'm donating millions of dollars to groups that travel the world seeing to the violent eradication of homosexuals. That's what chick-fil-a does. :(
Dumb name. It looks like is should read as Chick-Fella.
But I know.. it's easier to just blah blah blah because reading is just so damn hard.
Does the Huffington post have real writers
Yes, they do and the writers actually get paid for their work. How good they are at what they do is for the reading public to judge, not for anyone here on GN who does not read their written articles to question the validity thereof.
Also, as Chelsea indicated, your envy is quite evident, however, I don't taste it, I smell it and it smells a lot like fermented Korean Kim Chee.
(it's not)
And that's Pulitzer Prize;Not pulizer price...lol
@Scott -- also, in the next few weeks you may see me on Dateline! Been in discussions with a producer over one of the cases I've covered since 2011! Pretty excited about that and wanted to let it out lol
Hope it works out for you, I personally enjoy that show.
Most recently they've contacted me about the disappearance and murder of Jaymie Adams -- I've interviewed the suspect's mother (Jaymie's husband) and it's perfect for the show. So I will either be on Dateline or mentioned regarding my coverage and whatnot.
I'm very, very, very excited about this. Way more excited than when HuffingtonPost approached me to blog for them.
Where to start? Well, how about that whole "rights be respected" thingy. I see damned little respect from the owners and supporters of the Chicke-Nit-Wit franchise. Oh, was that disrespectful? Well, it's only because I don't respect them.
But the worst of this entire statement is... it's pretty much the statement whites used when interviewed by TV reporters about the bus boycott that Rosa Parks inspired, and the restaurant and store boycotts inspired by a guy who owned a restaurant... and carried an "Arkansas Toothpick" (an ax handle). Of course, that was WAY back in... 2009-2010?!? Thought I was gonna say the '60s, dintcha?
Nope... our most recent national election. Oh, it was ubiquitous in the '60s; especially in the deep South. But you remember Rand Paul, don't you? "The Civil Rights Act shouldn't apply to private business." Remember that? Did you think he spoke from isolation?
"The Civil Rights Act shouldn't apply to private business."
Yes, I remember Rand Paul making that statement. It was a clear case of the son imitating the father's racism. The only difference being the son was stupid enough to say it to the media, where the father wrote it and thereby was able to deny that it was his words.
I think Sarah Palin wanted to give people something to talk about... I guess she was trying to ride this scandal to stay in the news. This must be culture shock for her because you can't hunt for chickens to eat successfully with a high power rifle/shotgun shooting from a helicopter... they run fast and all that buckshot would leave nothing but a cloud of feathers...
(Apologies to my socially conservative friends.)
(and Sarah can't sing)
