Tea Party Republican Joe Walsh has never served in the military and therefore can't talk about personal military experience. And he sure seems to be doing his best to keep his Democratic opponent Tammy Duckworth from doing it either. But Ms. Duckworth has plenty to talk about this regard - she is an Army Lieutenant Colonel who, as a Black Hawk helicopter pilot, lost both her legs during combat in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
On Wednesday, while on CNN's The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer, Rep. Walsh blasted Ms. Duckworth, saying, "All she does, guys, is talk about her service." Last Sunday during a campaign speech, Rep. Walsh also put Ms. Duckworth down, saying, "Our true heroes, the men and women who served us, it's the last thing in the world they talk about." For Walsh, such a hero is Senator John McCain who Walsh claims avoids talking about his service and ordeals as a former prisoner of war in Vietnam. MSNBC blogger Steve Benen, however, presents evidence to the contrary and that McCain did tout his service during his 2008 bid for the presidency.
Joe Walsh also seems to harp quite frequently on the fact that his opponent happens to be a woman, saying, "Now I'm running against a woman who, I mean--my God--that's all she talks about," and "What else has she done?..Female, wounded veteran ... ehhh." Would Mr. Walsh be trying to silence an opponent who had the same background and disabilities as Ms. Duckworth, but was a male instead? In that scenario, would Mr. Walsh focus more on meritorious issues and perhaps on his own qualifications? Or it could be that in reality, Mr. Walsh is manufacturing a smokescreen to hide his own lack of leadership and qualifications as compared with Ms. Duckworth.

Gone are the days when Republicans could simply wave the flag and act as if they have cornered the market on patriotism. There are many Democrats who served their country well in Iraq and Afghanistan, and they are coming home to show these draft dodging war mongers the faces of true heroism.
Following Walsh's victory in the 2010 Republican primary, it was reported that a bank had foreclosed on his condo and he had been evicted in October 2009, but that he and his family were living in a rented house in the Chicago North Shore suburb of Winnetka at the time. He was also reportedly facing a lawsuit by a former campaign manager who claimed Walsh owed him $20,000 for services.
On July 28, 2011, the Chicago Sun-Times reported that Walsh's ex-wife, Laura, was suing him for $117,437 for past due child support dating from 2005 for three of the children. Walsh allegedly told his ex-wife that he did not have the money because he was out of work, but he nevertheless reportedly loaned $35,000 to his 2010 campaign, and allegedly enjoyed foreign vacations in earlier years.
Walsh's attorney said that Walsh did not owe "anywhere near that amount," and that he had had no more problems paying child support than "any other average guy".
John Walsh, you are a deadbeat, UN-American, Tea-bagging scumbag.
Now this disgraceful piece of human garbage is attempting to besmerch and cast dishonor upon his political opponent. An honorable person who not only served in the military (which he never did) and in doing so loss both legs in combat, but, a person who attained the rank of Lt. Colonel and the notable position of a helicopter pilot.
I would ask the voting public, both Republican and Democrat, is this the kind of person you want as your Representative in Congress. I would add, IMO, anyone who answers yes, is even a person with less morals values than Joe Walsh himself !!!
Walsh's character attacks would seem to indicate that he doesn't think that discussing real issues is going to work, and he's apparently not above a last-ditch attempt to distract his constituents. Truly pathetic, regardless of one's political affiliations. With any luck, this will be the last time voters will have to see his name blighting a ballot.
Yeah, Democrats never do that. That would be unacceptable.
It is both sad and sickening to see the political degenerate you have allowed yourself to become. It would appear that you believe by making asinine remarks to this article, you will receive high five accolades from other extremist rightwing ideologist.
However;
I believe that you will only be viewed as a person who is politically self indoctrinated beyond normal reasoning and in such need of personal attention, that can not understand that this is not a Consevative -v- Liberal issue, but is in reality, a lousey SOB -v- a decorated Disabled War Veteran. The political affiliations of the two being secondary to the issue of having ethical and moral values.
Libtards confuse me all the time. Kerry was lauded for his disrespect for the military. Hillary Clinton is quoted "I loath the military." Obama shows very little respect for the military unless he can use it for photo-op political gain.
So which is it? Respect? Disrespect? Admiration? Loathing?
Or like most things Libtard - situational morality?
You are one twisted and confused individual, you have my pity, but not my sympathy.
He should be respected for that? Why?
Remember the 2004 election and the "Swiftboating" of John Kerry by supporters of deferment deserted George W. Bush. Worked for him
Never underestimate the ability of conservatives to ignore facts in favorite of ideology.
A thinking wounded woman who disagrees with the Tea party?
This is far too much intelligence for someone, a male, who can't think by himself!
"All's fair in love and war." - unknown.
I look it at this way, when one sticks his/her neck out in the political arena, all is game. Anything and everything is vulnerable to attack and one must accept that. If you have skeletons in your closet, we all do, be prepared to fess up and/or deal with them. Rocky Balboa summed it up where it isn't the punches you can dish out but the punches you can still take and keep going.
Politics, like a lot of things, is a zero sum game. You got to do what it takes to win, you have to be a Machiavelli. If you're passionate about what you want to do if elected, the first thing to do is win and focus on winning and be willing to do almost anything to accomplish that.
I can find a lot of faults in her positions that make her unsuitable. One is her support for gun control. I mean if she was Iraq with a choppers, I'm sure she was using a set of guns to blow those poor Iraqis away, I find that hypocritical at best.
I may be harsh, but I would fight for what is right for America, even if I have to be Machiavellian
