President Obama has bowed to yet another foreign leader, and this time it was none other than Mexican President Felipe Calderon. The awkward greeting took place at the G20 Leaders summit in Los Cabos, Mexico on Monday.
Has there ever been a president who has shown such weakness before foreign leaders? During his first year in office, it was shocking to watch him bow before the Saudi king, Chinese president Hu Jintao, and the Japanese emperor. An American president shouldn't kowtow to anyone, metaphorically or literally.
But, now he's at it again. What makes this even more infuriating, is that last week the president granted de facto amnesty to millions of Mexican nationals who don't belong in the country. Calderon is the one who should be getting on his knees - to thank Obama.
Ironically, this constant apologizing for Americans hasn't done anything to boost the image of the United States around the world. How can people trust a leader who regularly trashes his homeland with such glee?
Calderon, coincidentally, praised Obama's Friday decision to allow illegal aliens under 30 to remain in the U.S. Calderon called the move a "humanitarian action."

That is a bow???????
He will now cede all of the conquered lands back to Mexico and legalize drugs from that country?
This type behavior is common in those who climb clock towers with a high powered rifle.
Good lord, they have lost touch with reality.
First he was Muslim, Kenyan born, cuddling terrorists, giving terrorists their Miranda rights, communis, socialist, Hitler...., list goes on and on. Adding bowing to foreign leaders sounds less insane but it is a psychosis either way.
Still, this bowing business, and the implication that the president is weak as a result is, itself, pretty weak...and stupid in the extreme.
I have to disagree Vic. The government (that is congress) is exactly what the we the people have allowed it to become. I completely understand the urge to dodge responsibility, but the facts are the facts. By refusing to deal with campaign finance reform, gerrymandering and by electing people who don't believe in government to government, the public has produced this sad excuse for a congress that appears to be unable to take on any significant policy issues.
As for so many people not paying attention, that's our fault as well. Nor is that condition recent or new. Long has it been so.
Racists all.
This link shows the true nature of conservative hatred for Obama.
That is racism.
None of you (except maybe Barbara Espinosa) have the guts to say it out loud, so you speak in nonsense code. You know he's a natural born American, not a Kenyan. You know he's not a Communist. You know he's not a Muslim. You guys are not the brightest bulbs on the tree, but even you aren't that stupid. You use those ridiculous accusations because you can't come out and say what you mean (nigger), so you speak in code. What probably really pisses you off is that most other whites no longer nod and wink and agree with you.
So I will continue to call you on your racism and expose it, embarrassing you with the word you dare not speak but desperately want to.

It baffels me why any American would consider such respectability being demonstrated by and/or for our President of the United States as somehow being viewed as his groveling before a foreign power or foreign leader.
For me, when our President is greeting and/or being greeted by foreign dignataries, heads of state and/or religious leaders, etc, it is encumbant upon the President to demonstrate that he as the elected leader of the United States, the great country in the world, is willing to speak with such received and/or host people of authority with respect and dignity, regardless of the size of and/or the politics of that nation.
Why would anyone feel so insecure as to worry about whether or not we as a nation are viewed as being weak and/or in some way less powerful as a nation than we are, simply because our President rightfully shows respect and courtesy to people of foreign nations and regimes as the position of his office requires. It would be my opinion and assumption that should our country's president demonstrate disrespect towards any foreign head of state, ambassador or other dignatary, we as a nation would not only be collectively embarrassed as a people, we would be ridiculed around the world. A world which looks to and depends upon the United States for truth, justice and respect for others of lesser statute within the world of nations. For any member of our government and especially for our President to demonstrate disrespect and/or a superior attitude towards another nation or it's representative, is beneath the standards set by our forefathers. Standards which millions of Americans have fought and died to keep true and as an essential part of the American people's character and moral values.
It would be my suggestion, that we as a nation of respectable people, should rejoyce in the knowledge that we are the greatest nation in the world. A nation which does not need to show superiority, but instead a nation which demonstrates of national unity and strength through our kindness, generousity and respecibility towards others.
