Birther disgrace Donald Trump has a new image to destroy and it belongs to presidential hopeful Mitt Romney—who is so spineless that he just does not know how to make a firm decision for the sake of his campaign. Why is Romney willingly going along with Trump as a partner in this campaign even after knowing just how chock-full-of-nuts he is?
Donald Trump is going to host a fundraiser in Las Vegas for Mitt Romney, which is fine and all, but Trump is really the last person the guy should associate with during this tense presidential bid. Donald Trump is a birther, and aside from Orly Taitz, he's the loudest of the conspiracy racists..erhm..theorists.
Donald also isn't showing any signs of giving up on the ideas that President Barack Obama wasn't born in the U.S., which he certainly was! He recently melted down and again claimed that the president was born in Kenya, which he was not.
So good luck with that one, Mittens, because you're certainly going to need it. Sure there are probably enough rich racist idiots out there willing to pay for a plate at this lavish fundraiser, but are there enough? It certainly seems like Mitt didn't think this partnership through, and it's unsettling that it's all coming about not long after Trump offers himself up as a VP choice. Now wouldn't that just be a steaming pile of political comedy?
Donald Trump may or may not realize it, but he doesn't necessarily have that midas touch anymore. Sure, he's business-savvy, but he's a career killer when it comes to the credibility of those who associate with him. Who's public image stands to benefit from this partnership? Certainly not Mitt Romney's, which leads to another question:
Is Donald Trump purposely destroying the GOP's chances of taking back the White House? It's probably safe to say that Obama is going to win that re-election. Most Americans don't relate to the nuttiness that is birther madness.

These are the sounds I imagine going off in the heads of the birthermaniacs sub-species of the rightwingnut tribe. I may be off a litte, but its a sure bet that there is nothing more intelligent going on there.

Rory, I think I love you.

This morning on "This Week," ABC News' George Will called Donald Trump a "bloviating ignoramus," questioning why presumptive Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney is associating with the real estate mogul, who once again falsely questioned President Obama's birthplace this week.
LMFAOL!
Is the Pope bare in the woods?
All this time I've been thinking Obama was born in Kenya. Now that Chelsea assures me he was born in the US, I'm feeling SO much better. Snort.
Gasp! Bad, bad Juan. I'm in the last throes of my hate filled life? I'm not ready to end.
I don't know where the Dodo went but I'm doing my best to hang in here a while longer. I'm indeed trying to clutch my easy chair. I'm not going anywhere except out to vote in due season :)
Clearly you haven't.
We spent years scratching each others eyes out over politics and ... I don't know. Society changed. It's civil now.
Try it. Treat her like a lady and she will delete you for sure. :)
Read this article about US Imperialism's quest for global dominance and how both Democrats and Republicans are destroying the economy of America by spending 60% of US budget in imperialist wars:
Syria, Yemen, and America’s Quest for Imperial Dominance
Neo-Imperialism by Faux-Democracy, Terrorism, and Propaganda.
By Eric Draitser
At the G8 summit last week, President Obama and other officials in his administration, began utilizing the talking point of Yemen being a model to be emulated in Syria. Ostensibly, they were referring to the “peaceful†transition of power in Yemen as an example of what they would like to see in Syria. However, the comparison goes much deeper than simply this superficial connection. The truth is that Yemen represents, in more ways than one, the blueprint that the US imperialist ruling class would like to see applied to the escalating conflict in Syria.
Puppet Regimes and Faux Democracy
The “transition†of power in Yemen, from Saleh to Hadi, is a prime example of the hypocrisy of US policy, touting it as a victory for democracy while concealing the obvious fact that it was the creation of a puppet regime. Abed Rabbo Mansour Hadi has been presented as the legitimate leader of Yemen, despite the fact that he was the U.S. choice to govern that country. His legitimacy depended on the myth of a democratically elected regime; the US propagates this myth wantonly, pretending that people won’t remember that Hadi ran unopposed in February.
If the purpose of democracy is to create forms of governance accountable to the citizenry and to establish a government that is truly representative of the people’s desires, then it would be an outright lie to call the Hadi administration anything close to a democracy. In fact, as recent developments in Yemen have shown, his regime is nothing more than a puppet government, put in power by the United States in order to allow the CIA and other shadowy entities free reign to use drones, Special Forces, and other covert operations in what is supposedly a sovereign nation.
Not only is Hadi, the former vice President under Saleh, not democratically elected, he is the antithesis of progress in a country that was on the front lines of the Arab Spring. The people who marched through the streets of Sanaa and other cities across Yemen did so with the intention of effecting change in a country which, in the eyes of many, was seen as a backwards dictatorship. However, despite all the rhetoric about hope, change, and progress from the US State Department and the White House, President Obama and his minions, including John Brennan (counter-terrorism advisor and frequent representative of Obama in Yemen), immediately lent their support to Hadi. The betrayal came as no surprise to any informed observer as the United States was only interested in its own strategic interests in the region.
US Tactics and the Geopolitical Imperative in Yemen
US interest in Yemen is certainly not rooted in altruism or a desire to promote democratic ideals. On the contrary, it is the application of a long-standing geopolitical strategy to control international trade through the Mandab Strait and Suez Canal, access to African raw materials, and most specifically, block the expansion of Chinese economic influence in both the Middle East and Africa. For these reasons, the United States has a keen interest in both Yemen and Somalia, desperate to maintain chaos in those countries so as to prevent stable, nationalist leaders from emerging. In so doing, Washington once again shows itself to be an imperialist aggressor, interested only in maintaining and expanding the empire.
The tactics of this strategy are myriad. First and foremost, the US, in accordance with long-standing policy dating back to the Carter administration, uses the red herring of “Islamic extremism†and terrorism, to justify any actions it deems necessary for the advancement of its own agenda. In places like Afghanistan and Yemen, the enemy is Al-Qaeda which must be fought with US military might, while in Libya and Syria, Al-Qaeda is an ally fighting against the oppressive regimes of Gaddafi and Assad. This duplicity should come as no surprise since Washington’s foreign policy is based on expanding US hegemony rather than promoting any ideals.
The second aspect of America’s imperialist strategy is the fomenting of ethnic, tribal, and other sectarian conflicts. In doing so, Washington is able to prevent the emergence of any form of nationalism that, by definition, would stand in opposition to US imperialism. One must simply look across the Mandab Strait for an example of this strategy: Somalia. A nation of strategic and geographical importance, Somalia has been effectively destroyed by US policy over the last twenty years, having been transformed from a proud nation to a loose collection of tribal groups dominated by repugnant warlords with no regard for national identity.
In Yemen, we’ve seen this strategy employed vis-à -vis the Huthi rebellion, the propagandistic use of tribal groups as proxies of Saudi Arabia, Iran, or whomever the US wants to demonize, and countless other examples of these sorts of divisive tactics. In this way, the imperialists are able to keep Yemen fragmented, using it as a pawn on the geopolitical chessboard.
A Connection Between Yemen and Syria?
With all this talk about Yemen, the question might be, “So, what’s this got to do with Syria?†The answer to this question can be found in an analysis of the social movements of the two countries. In Syria, just as in Yemen, there is a real, pro-democracy opposition that took to the streets in hopes of forcing reforms. Both movements began with high-minded ideals and sought to end what they perceived to be the outdated rule of dictatorial leaders. However, unlike Yemen, Syria has been under assault by West-sponsored, foreign mercenary terrorists who have usurped the title of “oppositionâ€, thereby making the real opposition into a mere irrelevancy on the international stage. The United States and its proxies in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Israel, and elsewhere are responsible for this reprehensible turn of events.
And so, when the Obama administration claims that the Yemeni model is the best course of action in Syria, what they mean is that their tactics of subversion through terrorism are simply a means to an end. Just as in Yemen, the United States seeks to topple Assad and install a puppet government, one that would be comfortable under the thumb of the imperialist ruling class. The US has no interest in protecting the rights of the ethnic and religious minorities or the real opposition (namely the National Coordinating Committee and the Popular front) in Syria, just as they had little interest in furthering the democratic aspirations of the people of Yemen. Rather, Obama and those who control him, seek regime change in Syria in order to use that nation as a geopolitical chess piece against Iran, Russia and any other nation unfortunate enough to be deemed an “enemy†of the United States.

Radical "IT IS TIME FOR ALL AMERICANS TO HATE THE DEMOCRATS AND TO HATE THE REPUBLICANS !!
Much of what you say may be true. I don't trust our President Obama. There's so much I don't know right now.
But this I know without even knowing you, you have nothing to offer any of us except your hatred for Americans, capitalists, and Jews.
Scram.
A third party may eventually break this death grip on the body politic of the American republic, but not before a lot more damage and decline occurs, sadly.

And you hate Jews.
You'll be happy to hear Glenn Beck's influence is mushrooming from one country to the other. His internet channel is doing great.
Chelsea, we couldn't be more opposite, but for some reason I thought you were funny coming down the article. Oops. Funny, like in fun :)
I'm not too outspoken (I don't think) but I like people who are.
I'm a little unsure whether or not Mr Trump could be under anyone. I don't think he can. I think he'd be open about that.
As long as Mitt asks Newt Gingrich to run the finances I'm OK. Newt is the one that balanced the budget for President Clinton.
He might be a little hard to get along with, but he knows his stuff.
Sarcasm is my favorite.
Once again, Thank you Mr. Romney for all you are doing to make Pres. Obama's 2012 re-election campaign a success.
I only addressed my comments to the issue of Mitt Romney attending a party hosted by Donald Trump. Nothing more, nothing less, just a simple opinion on the issue.
How in the sane world you were able to read something which was not written is a mystery which only you can explain. But, nevermind, I really don't want an explination, reading your first comment was enough. I prefer to debate with rationally reasonable people. Never with radical extremist having some personal conspiracy agenda to promote.
You may well be right, but, guess what, there's nothing which you can say or do which will change the fact the Barack H. Obama is the President of the United States. Both your president and mine, that is, unless you have plans to renounce your citizenship. If that is the that case, then good bye, may your days be better, it is for sure, that our's will be.
YOU SHEEPLE ARE PATHETCI!!!"
I lold.
From the ranting and raving notable in your posted comments, it would be reasonable for any sane person to deduce that you are living in a delusional world of fantasy thoughts, incoherent reasoning and hate filled rhetoric. The sum of which appears to be all jumbled up in your head and causing you great consternation and excessive anxiety.
Dude, you really need to chill out for your own welfare. It is apparent that you are teetering on the brink of a self induced, mental breakdown. The sad thing is, you are making yourself ill over matters to which you have no control. Once again, serious advice, chill out for your own sake.
Woo woo !! :)
He resorts to ad hominem attacks and other lunacy when the grown ups don't want to play with him.
I suggest he find a forum of his own kind and not bother those who have higher standards of "thinking" than these two:
There's just a feel you get about these alters. You don't know who they are, but you know you know them. :)
I forgot how much I missed you : (
Hope you are doing well! I wouldn't vote for Romney if he popped out of a hole in my yard and offered me the world!
The normal ones will vote for Obama.
Obama will win, heads will explode. I will laugh.
Oh wait ... what is this? "The nut jobs will vote for Romney... even though they've stated they don't like him."
There is no comparison between my 3rd choice, Mitt Romney and my 0 choice, the current President Obama.
Besides ... I never said I was normal.
That is racism.
I think the biggest way to determine racism is to listen to the ones that can't quit talking about it. You know, the D's :)
I don't want him to be my President because he lies, also, he lies, and on top of that, he lies.
Yesterday, he actually said he indebted us less than Bush and ???? I can't remember the whole statement. I went into shock at the first 1/2 the comment :) Not. I just can't remember. He does not give accurate stats on unemployed and the # of jobs he's created.
You'll have to admit he sometimes can hardly make eye contact with Netenyahoo :) His bitterness seems to run pretty deep. You can easily tell by his demeanor when he is even talking about them.
So many things he has lied about but my mind isn't cooperating on bringing up some of detailed ones. I keep thinking I'm going to keep a written list. OK, I just set aside a tiny note book & pen by my chair. I'm going to start Today.
Lori, I think that President Obama really thinks socialism is best for us. He is concerned about the underprivileged but doesn't realize the driving power of people doing without things. I don't mean we should turn off the services to people that cannot help themselves ... only those that do not support themselves. I hate for him to teach a whole generation of people that they are 'owed' these things by others. I tend to be lazy. Or at least would rather read and play then do boring work. I can empathize :) But not giving into laziness.
I couldn't believe him yesterday actually stating he has run the the debt up less than ??? many - (I think) other Presidents. That is not true. Anyway, give me some time to keep a list. I checked out the "Obama lies" on the net the other day but there's no way of telling if those are just politics or not.
Statistically he is correct. Reagan ran the debt up more percentage wise than either Bush or Obama.
If you owe a dollar and you are charged 100% interest in one day for that dollar then you pay $2.
Now if you owe $10 at 50% interest then you owe $15.00 a lower amount percentage wise however a higher amount dollar wise.
But you dont pay the same price for goods and services as you did back in 1980's with inflation and cost of living increases.
So you have to look beyond the hate to the facts but most people just continue to hate and dont bother with the rest. So you arent alone glome.
Ron, let's talk about something besides race.
Why was President Bush so Wrong by giving our money to business's (and he was) and you think it's OK for President Obama to give what? 10 X as much over all. (I have no idea how much:) Then you don't even count it as his expenditures? :) No way Hose. The price of the Obama medical plan just keeps growing. Also, he kept adding wars to wars. He has drug the recession into (I think) the longest recession in America, hasn't built jobs and businesses continue to move overseas.
You are smart ron, you know that article was ridiculous. And I know you didn't buy it either.
If you think about it for a moment, you will realize what a ridiculous premise that is. Do child molestors go around talking about child molesting? No, they keep it a deep, dark secret. Do murderers go around blurting out their plans to commit murder? Typically, no, they keep that under wraps. Do thieves advertise their profession? No, they hide it.
Why would racism be different? Why would racist go around raising the subject of racism all the time? They wouldn't. They would do exactly what conservative Obama-haters do constantly: protest and deny and cast aspersions on everyone else.
Lori F "So you have to look beyond the hate to the facts but most people just continue to hate and don't bother with the rest. So you aren't alone glome"
Ms Lori F ... I'm going to throw rocks at your little pink car if I see it. Even though I am impressed you don't want me to feel alone :)
Rory people like that will never get it...they think they are superior to someone because they have the right skin color however they dont take into account their ignorance...they are in no way superior to anyone.
No Glome, I made a reply to you, but deleted it, because I sat here and thought about it, and I'll tell you what, I believe parts of it, because parts of it are true, and I also know that the accusations the right makes on much more partisan figure wrangling than that, needs to stop.
So you're voting for Romney??????
Although eligibility for the Presidency was not an issue in any 19th century litigation, there have been a few cases that shed light on "natural-born citizen". The leading case is Lynch v. Clarke,[32] which dealt with a New York law (similar to laws of other states at that time) that only a U.S. citizen could inherit real estate. The plaintiff, Julia Lynch, had been born in New York while her parents, both British, were briefly visiting the U.S., and shortly thereafter all three left for Britain and never returned to the U.S. The New York Chancery Court determined that, under common law and prevailing statutes, she was a U.S. citizen by birth and nothing had deprived her of that citizenship, notwithstanding that both her parents were not U.S. citizens or that British law might also claim her through her parents' nationality. In the course of the decision, the court cited the Constitutional provision and said:
Suppose a person should be elected president who was native born, but of alien parents; could there be any reasonable doubt that he was eligible under the Constitution? I think not. The position would be decisive in his favor, that by the rule of the common law, in force when the Constitution was adopted, he is a citizen.[33]
And further:
Upon principle, therefore, I can entertain no doubt, but that by the law of the United States, every person born within the dominions and allegiance of the United States, whatever the situation of his parents, is a natural born citizen. It is surprising that there has been no judicial decision upon this question.[34]
The decision in Lynch v. Clarke was cited as persuasive or authoritative precedent in numerous subsequent cases, including In re Look Tin Sing,[35] on the issue of whether the child, born in the U.S., to two Chinese parents (who were prevented by federal law from becoming U.S. citizens) was a U.S. citizen, notwithstanding the nationality of his parents or the fact that he had traveled to China with them and not returned to the U.S. for many years. The federal court held in a decision written by U.S. Supreme Court Associate Justice Stephen J. Field) that he was a citizen by birth, and remained such despite his long stay in China, cited the decision in Lynch v. Clarke and described that case:
After an exhaustive examination of the law, the Vice-Chancellor said that he entertained no doubt that every person born within the dominions and allegiance of the United States, whatever the situation of his parents, was a natural-born citizen, and added that this was the general understanding of the legal profession, and the universal impression of the public mind.[36]
The Lynch case was also cited as a leading precedent in the U.S. Supreme Court decision in United States v. Wong Kim Ark (1898)[37], which similarly held that the child born here of two Chinese parents was a birthright US citizen, and that decision also used the phrase "natural born".[38]
In 1939 the U.S. Supreme Court issued its decision in the case of Perkins v. Elg, regarding a young woman, born in New York a year after her father became a naturalized U.S. citizen. However, when she was about four her parents returned to Sweden taking her with them, and they stayed in Sweden. At age 20, this young woman contacted the American diplomats in Sweden and, shortly after her 21st birthday, returned to the United States on a U.S. passport and was admitted as a U.S. citizen. Years later, while she was still in America, her father in Sweden relinquished his American citizenship, and, because of that, the Department of Labor (then the location of the Immigration & Naturalization Service) declared her a non-citizen and tried to deport her. The young woman filed suit for a declaratory judgment that she was an American citizen by birth. She won at the trial level, and at the circuit court - where she was repeatedly described as "a natural born citizen" [39]- and finally in the U.S. Supreme Court, where the court decision quoted at length from the U.S. Attorney-General's opinion in Steinkauler's Case (mentioned above) including the comment that the person born in America and raised in another country could yet "become President of the United States".[40]
Under the treaty [of 1868 with Germany], and in harmony with American doctrine, it is clear that Steinkauler the father abandoned his naturalization in America and became a German subject (his son being yet a minor), and that by virtue of German laws the son acquired German nationality. It is equally clear that the son, by birth, has American nationality, and hence he has two nationalities, one natural, the other acquired. .... Young Steinkauler is a native-born American citizen. There is no law of the United States under which his father or any other person can deprive him of his birthright. He can return to America at the age of 21, and in due time, if the people elect, he can become President of the United States..... I am of opinion that when he reaches the age of 21 years he can then elect whether he will return and take the nationality of his birth, with its duties and privileges, or retain the nationality acquired by the act of his father.
Most of this passage, including the line about being elected President, was quoted approvingly by the U.S. Supreme Court in its 1939 decision in Perkins v. Elg, [22] a case involving a similar question about an American-born girl in Sweden.
In 1904, Frederick van Dyne (1861-1915), the Assistant Solicitor of the US Department of State (1900-1907) (and subsequently a diplomat), published a textbook, Citizenship of the United States, in which he said:[23]
There is no uniform rule of international law covering the subject of citizenship. Every nation determines for itself who shall, and who shall not, be its citizens. ... By the law of the United States, citizenship depends, generally, on the place of birth; nevertheless the children of citizens, born out of the jurisdiction of the United States, are also citizens. .... The Constitution of the United States, while it recognized citizenship of the United States in prescribing the qualifications of the President, Senators, and Representatives, contained no definition of citizenship until the adoption of the 14th Amendment, in 1868; nor did Congress attempt to define it until the passage of the civil rights act, in 1866. ... Prior to this time the subject of citizenship by birth was generally held to be regulated by the common law, by which all persons born within the limits and allegiance of the United States were deemed to be natural-born citizens thereof.
It appears to have been assumed by the Supreme Court of the United States in the case of Murray v. The Charming Betsy (1804) 2 Cranch (6 U.S.) 64, 119, 2 L.Ed. 208, 226, that all persons born in the United States were citizens thereof. ... In M'Creery v. Somerville (1824) 9 Wheat. (22 U.S.) 354, 6 L.Ed. 109, which concerned the title to land in the state of Maryland, it was assumed that children born in that state to an alien were native-born citizens of the United States. .... The Federal courts have almost uniformly held that birth in the United States, of itself, confers citizenship.
why is this still an issue? Do everyone in the birther movement flat out REFUSE to read?
I hold him partly responsible because secrecy and hiding so much only causes people to appear that they are secretive and hiding something:) It is unwise of him to be so secretive because most people that are hiding something do so because they don't want anyone to know. I just wanted to state the obvious. How fun.
I wonder why he's secretive. My guess was that he was an outspoken socialist or Muslim in school. But who knows?

Me I am :)
Truth is ron, you could be right. We all look at each other in proper clothes, combed hair, and smiles .... but some of us are psychopaths. In fact, a relatively high #.
I have just decided most of what goes on in peoples lives needs to be kept private.
Mitt isn't who I wanted but he's better than President Obama :) The reverse of your thoughts. I can't and won't defend Mitt because I don't know anything much about him.
We'd need a boxing ring for that. Let me build my arms up a little more first :)
My icon is the Greek symbol called Psi, pronounced Sy, like my former name on Gather, before I changed it back to Simon. I dont know if its related to anything Jewish, but I doubt it. If you are one of those gals who likes Jewish guys, let me know, I can always convert. I have changed my religion so many times, it wouldnt be that big a deal.
Again, I apologize for the subscribers of this thread for the behavior of the spammer that HAS been reported for removal (or a stiff warning, unless they've already been warned by the mods for this behavior.)

but let's not talk about it on the article, they're still an official gather member until the mods take a look at their activities, so yeah. heh.
I've seen many people say that Romney is not eligible either, so why aren't they checking into that also? Shouldn't everryone want our Constitution followed, no matter who it is?
