Charles Barkley shocked viewers of a basketball game this week, by taking a gratuitous swipe at GOP candidate Mitt Romney, who happened to be in the crowd at the time.
Consider the source, though. Coming from someone who once spit in the face of a young child, and admits to paying for hookers, the former Massachusetts governor should feel flattered.
Nonetheless, imagine the response if any sportscaster had made such a snarky remark about President Barack Obama on live television. Obama would have responded by siccing the Secret Service on the poor guy.
The ex-Bay State governor was on hand for a Boston Celtics game at the TD Garden, when Barkley made his dopey remarks. You can view the video here.
"Mitt Romney. Listen main man, we're going to beat you like a drum in November. Don't take it personally. You seem like a nice guy. But you're going down, bro," Barkley said.
Who's, "we?" And, why would Barkley, who's supposed to be a conservative, back such a leftist as Obama? Barkley once considering running as a Republican for the governorship of Alabama, but changed his affiliation to Independent in 2008 when Obama was running for the presidency.

Glad to see there is so much enthusiasm for The One as he kicks off the campaign!
He's a bum.
You darn liberals though...
I can now see why Manhattan Island was sold for some mere beads. I used to think it was the firewater's fault...
There is one conservative black female I saw on TV the year Obama was first elected. And she said straight up, I voted for Obama because he was black. I want my child to be able to say there is someone like him in the White House with the same skin color. Barkley might be doing the same thing. He's always been vocal being a right winger. But color may trump that.
