An EPA official shared his agency's brutal philosophy toward regulation of oil and gas companies at a meeting in a video from 2010 that just surfaced this week. Region VI Administrator Al Armendariz compared the Environmental Protection Agency's enforcement techniques to the tactics ancient Romans used toward her enemies.
Armendariz stated, that the "philosophy of enforcement" is "kind of like how the Romans used to conquer little villages in the Mediterranean: they'd go into little Turkish towns somewhere, they'd find the first five guys they'd run into, and they'd crucify them."
This tactic would make the companies "easier to manage." He said, "You find people that are not complying with the law and you hit them as hard as you can...you make examples out of them," as reported by the Heritage Foundation.
Since when did government agencies stop becoming watchdogs for the American people and start becoming enforcers of political agendas?
The Environmental Protection Agency's War on Fossil Fuels
Sen. James Inhofe (R-OK) released a press release regarding the "Crucify them" strategy apparently espoused by the Agency and called the tactics indicative of their "war on fossil fuels." It went on to say,
"Not long after Administrator Armendariz made these comments in 2010, EPA targeted US natural gas producers in Pennsylvania, Texas and Wyoming. In all three of these cases, EPA initially made headline-grabbing statements either insinuating or proclaiming outright that the use of hydraulic fracturing by American energy producers was the cause of water contamination, but in each case their comments were premature at best - and despite their most valiant efforts, they have been unable to find any sound scientific evidence to make this link."
Sen. James Inhofe said that Armendariz's comments give us a "rare glimpse" into the true agenda of the Obama Administration, who "pretends" to be a "true friend to oil, gas and coal," his "green team" betrays the truth...that there is an "all-out war" on hydraulic fracturing. The Green Team thinks that "Americans won't know that if you kill hydraulic fracturing, you kill oil and gas production in America."
Since when is the government in the business to target industries and "crucify them"? It is one thing to enforce the law, but it is another, as Inhofe states, to "scare people, to intimidate people" to "fall in line with regulatory whims."
Thank you Sen. James Inhofe, for bringing this story to light.

Oh NO!
It's an interesting read and it addresses the Climategate scandal that, in Inhofe's words, "revealed that several of the world's top climate researchers were alleged to be cooking the science."
"cooking the science"
On global warming?
How apropos.
I did literally "laugh out loud".
Of course I love puns.
That guy in the video was a little hard to understand, my sound didn't come through well. But yes, Einstein was... well, Eistein.
Remember eons ago when borirg Al Gore told us the discussion was over? Yeah, he doesn'y want another cash cow getting away from him like "his invention, the Internet." Ha ha ha, where is he anyway? Did he die or something?
Yet another excellent example, of Government controlling an industry, via the purse strings.
Buy control with bailouts; dictate control with penalties, and threats of horrendous audits.
Pre-determine control, with anti-trust tactics to eliminate entire industries (private health insurance, with care providers as a bonus).
We have allowed a long history of bribery, extortion, pillage, and murder of our domestic production of goods and services.
The acceleration of “Black Hand” tactics has finally pushed it to the forefront.
Now we can only pray, that we have unveiled it in time, to stop it.
Some made choices many to ignore it.
We have been trained that no one can fight the Government.
Many are so indelibly trained, that “it cannot happen here”, plus the gut feeling, that no one could be that devious, or anti-American, and get elected.
Combine that all with the conditioned attitude, that we must be involved in all social activities, and our children must be involved constantly, in every sport known to man.
The parents of today, are breathless, from the constant pace of unachievable goals, there is no time left to think.
OH dear!
That would be child abuse according to the lamentations of the Doctor Spock posse. (smile)
I was unable to walk home; the farm was 9 mile from the school.
However, there were upperclassman, my parents, and other parents, that brought us home.
If there was no ride, you did not attend, and took the school bus home.
But it was also instinctively understood, that the privilege was not to be abused.
We were not in 3 or 5 or 10 activities a year!
We also did not have “double-secret” practice outside of the allowed time frames.
We were taught instead to not lie about having practice, and cheat by having ones that were disallowed.
Indeed.
