Mitt Romney made an attempt at humor while on a conference call with Wisconsin voters. He made a joke about his father shutting down a Michigan factory and moving those jobs to Wisconsin. Apparently he was trying to look good to Wisconsin residents, indicating that their state was a better choice than Michigan. He doesn't care about Michigan any longer; they already voted.
This is an example of all the things WRONG with Mitt Romney.
Romney has no concept of a budget
He has no concept of money or what it's like to be a working-class, middle American. He was raised in the top one percent and has remained there throughout his entire adult life. He has never had to decide which bill to pay on time and which to pay late. He has never had to wait and save for anything. He simply doesn't know the value of a days work nor the value of a dollar.
Flipflopper extraordinaire
He'll say anything to get what he wants. He's making jokes to potential voters in Wisconsin about Michigan residents losing jobs! He already got in trouble for saying he thought Detroit should have gone bankrupt. Now, he's insulting Michigan again. He must really hate that state.
No job
Romney hasn't had to go into the office to work in over a decade. Do you really think a guy that hasn't held a job in over 10 years can fix the economy and create jobs? He doesn't even have a job.
Paul Ryan said this about Romney: "Here in Wisconsin we appreciate people who are successful. We reward hard work. Since when is that a bad thing?"
Well, Paul, it's a bad thing when the "successful" person is applying for a job that requires a certain level of loyalty, diplomacy, sleepless nights, conviction, decision-making, stability, and relatability.
Romney has none of those traits. He mentions that his friends own pro sports teams (George W. Bush owned a sports team, look what he did to the country); he insults working Americans repeatedly; when he speaks, wait a few minutes and the answer to the same question will be different; people in his own party cannot even relate to him.
America's economic state is not a joke. Being President of the United States is not the party that Romney thinks it will be. After the celebration ends, real work begins. Mitt Romney doesn't have a clue what that entails.

Normally, in responding to written Gather News articles I find something tangible to which I am able to disagree with and/or debate thereon. However in your article above, I find no debative material. Albeit, I could add a few things which further point out Mr. Romney as being far less than qualified to be elected to the U.S. Presidency. Other than those additional disqualification traits of Mr. Romney, essentially, you and I are on the same wave length when it comes to "His Grand Richness" and how the Republican Party is about to crown a sure looser as their 2012 presidential nominee.
I will await your next article for something to debate, until then, keep up the good reporting.
What I didn't include in my article is my questions about WHY this guy is running? I wonder if that's why people don't "get" him. I understand why his GOP opponents are running. I don't agree with any of them entirely but I know why they are there. Romney seems -- insincere.
Unfortunately, his natural habitat is luxury and that's something 90% of Americans do not know exists (not the luxury at a Romney level).
Perhaps if he showed old family videos or pictures of himself with his wife and children -- at holidays or something?? They'd have to keep the Prada and the diamonds out of the pictures though.
He is a businessman, I think it is a good idea to elect someone to run this nation like a business.
You do know, Spirit, that his "business" was taking over other businesses. Shutting them down. Firing the employees.
In the realm of world leaders, Romney's "experience" more resembles Hitler's than any US President in our history.
I've seen the words "Marxist", "Socialist", "Communist", and even "Hitler" used to describe Obama. All way off the mark. You want those things, vote Romney.

If Romney gets this nomination, it almost assures Obama a win.
Once again, Romney will do and say anything to weasel himself into the White House. The man has no real convictions.
But, again, it is going to take more than just putting a President in office, Democrats and Indpedents have to somehow come up with a reasonable agenda, not just blow smoke in private places. This country needs to solve real problems with a real majority.
