Obama's science adviser is backpedaling and has been for three years now. Sadly many Americans are only just now learning about John P. Holdren's beliefs about children from large families or what America's government should do to keep population "under control." Holdren wrote a book based on some very limited studies where children from large families had lower IQs than their peers from smaller families. The only issue with the book is that it fails to take into account that the study only looked at single parent households from inner cities, most of whom were on government support.
In 2009, Holdren back peddled during his confirmation hearing before the Senate stating he no longer believed that children from large families are destined to be stupid. The only issue with his backpedaling is he is still advising the president on policies that still reflect this belief. The fact that he still wants the government to pass laws that will result in depopulation, such as making abortifacients free, makes it obvious that he harbors some of these radical beliefs. Yet again people like Obama's science adviser are forgetting the history of this nation and of other civilized societies.
Many of the nation's founders came from large families. In fact large families produced some of the greatest minds in history. A study completed in 2000 completely debunked Holdren's beliefs which is comforting to parents of large families, but with the administration still standing behind Holdren, few people realize that his beliefs do not hold water. As one commentator said, the liberals publish a false study, write a book about it, and then use that history as a basis to push their beliefs into law. Until Americans take a stand to learn the truth behind people like Holdren, the fabric of this nation will continue to be under constant assault.

One can only hope; in fact since Obama seems to have been elevated to the wellspring of hope ... I'm suuuurre he'll see the folly in that line of defense/attack. Then again ya never know - he's turned his back on politically sure things before; national allies, oil rigs, pipelines, border security...

Dismal science. Well, it's not science at all is the thing. I can see how a President facing one of two candidates with a gaggle of spawn might find the theory a useful thing to propagate, but I hope he has the good sense not to. It ain't a winner. Thanks for the article, Natasha!
Hope I don't offend if I make a couple of addtions to your sentence. ie: "...then 'knowingly' use that 'false' history as a basis to push their beliefs."
And, since the Prez has put his seal of approval on him, who knows, with the President's backing this book as well as his others might 'transform' not only the whole country but the basis of scientific thought and family law also.
But that doesn't mean that preventing overpopulation is an assault on Religion.
It is possible that overpopulation could help to destroy, a number of countries--including, perhaps, this one.
There are many reasons why overpopulation is harmful to one's health, much less one's capacity to survive.
Contraception is advocated by millions of people, across the planet--including well-respected religious congregants.
But speaking of the culture of death.....maybe Mr. Myles will not own up to--what is, very likely, his own support of the Culture of Death.....in the form of capitol punishment....where the murder rate, has periodically decreased, in some states, where capitol punishment is banned.
I'll bet Mr. Myles is for THAT sort of culture of death, isn't he?.....
Contraception is NOT part of the culture of death; it is a way to possibly help save the planet.
Maybe Christ's comment of, "Be fruitful and multiply", did not anticipate the world population explosion.....and its ominous dangers.
Maybe God isn't always right about everything.
but he knew that
the fabian society.
see margret sanger - founder of pp.
no matter how they mask it - it is not that holdren, sanger et al want to limit the number of children, so much as to limit the number of children in the poor, disadvantaged, and minorities, that they deem to be 'inferior'.
same thought process as hitler.
the fabians.
the ones that ran the muskeegee 'experiments'
fdr with the internmet camps of wwii
woodrow wilson and the wwi interment camps
the list goes on and on and on of left wing bigots.
It's exactly what they do. The also know how to attach absurd ideas into the back of bills and then quote then later as factual and historic. (i.e. attached to the bill that recognized McCain as a candidate and citizen - which was entirely unneeded - was a sentence that said that the term "natural born citizen" had never been defined. Dems put that there after trying - unsuccessfully - for about 6 years to have bills redefining natural born citizen.
I would agree that expanding Social Security and starting large public works jobs like the highway system might lead you to believe that he was slightly liberal. He might have been influenced by Nixon the VP on those two policies but other than that I see little to call him a socialist. Maybe you could fill in the gap for us as Obama still holds the crown as he has done far worse with the car companies, car dealers, student loans, banks, mortgage companies, Oil companies, and healthcare, just for starters.
