Hi Jared,

While you and jj were commenting here, I was trying to edit this article. However, some glitch or other keeps me from continuuing the edit as the article no longer shows an edit or delete button; only the spotlight this button shows.

Anyway, I simply did the article over and put it here. So if either of you (or anyone else) is interested in the actual finished article (there are one or two changes ---- which I hope clarifies my thoughts a little more), I hope you'll click on over.

Also, feel free to copy and paste your comments to that article.

However, neither "patriotic" nor "peaceful" is the topic. The topic is the continuation of the lending of Messiah-like attributes to a sitting POTUS per the examples I gave.

Got any comments in regard to it?

You're rehashing Fox News-sponsored controversies from 2010. These arguments were weak and overblown two years ago, and they're even more pathetic to use today. When Barack Obama isn't Hitler, he's the anti-Christ, or a Muslim Manchurian candidate, or Jimmy Carter, or the leader of the New Black Panthers. Even as he scrambles closer and closer to the center to appease Independents and Republicans, every move he makes is yet another secret plot to turn America into a gay dictatorship, according to the AM radio crowd. To answer your question, no. I have no comments that right wing conspiracy theorists wouldn't immediately lambast as yet another ignorant defense of my "messiah."

Weak and overblown? Fox News sponsored? I wish that was the subject.  I have a ton of "Fox News sponsored" examples of news stories that turned out to be totally accurate despite the left's accusations of lies and misrepresentation at the time they broke. 

 In those examples 'lie' and 'misrepresentation' both take on the definition of 'something progressives are not yet ready to reveal.'  But when they do reveal it they somehow forget to give Fox News credit for being the first ( and sometimes only) outlet to report what has miraculously (under their message control timetable) become the 'truth'.

I used people's *own quotes* to show examples of who said what and in what context.  Perhaps the mindset is attributable only to those I have quoted, but the fact is it was and seems to still be a continuing mindset at the very least for some people.

Hitler?  Of course he isn't.

Jimmy Carter.... Well, for a while he reminded me of Jimmy I have to admit. Not so much anymore, though.

*If* he is "scrambling closer and closer to the center" it's only because of one or both of these things ---  It's an election year, he knows his numbers are slipping and he has to try to reach toward the center (toward Independents and Republicans) or he'll lose a large chunk of voters he seems to have either insulted one too many times or taken for granted.   And/ or, his supporters are themselves many of them so far to the left it just seems to them as if he is moving toward the center, when in fact he is simply moving just a tad right of left but is still far from what used to be the traditional "center".

What stations do you listen to?  I have never heard anything even close to resembling that on the stations or channels I watch or listen to... 

Then again it was never me you were talking to here ... Never really talking to my actual article or the actual quotes etc I brought up.  You were not talking to an individual you were making mistaken soundbyte generalizations from the beginning, and this statement seems to be no different.

He may indeed not be your messiah... However there are those on the left who seem to have felt differently.   And there are those even currently who use phraseology that seems to reveal a messianic tilt to their approval of Obama.

Subliminal messages. Fox News was displaying pictures of John and Cindy McCain during the 2008 elections. You didn't see the pictures because they were flashed for half a second. The brain noted them only on a subliminal level.

What fun! However as far as I am able to tell, neither song was sung by children while they were even alive much less while Crockett served in government. In fact neither was even written (as far as I can tell) until 1954 or so (Davey Crockett) and some time in the 1960's (Daniel Boone).

As for Daniel Boone ... haven't found where he ever served in government; seems he was seen as a man much like we would view what's 'is name ... Bear Grylls in "Man vs. Wild"; not the POTUS.

And while one or both certainly may have sent a thrill into the bosom of some woman or other here or there ... neither was (again, as far as I can tell), ever seriously described as having the power to slow the rise of the oceans. More important, neither was ever referred to as Messiah, Savior, or "sort of God..."

have never known a time when people were so hateful toward a president. I grew up during the VietNam era; I had friends who died in that war and I intensely disliked President Johnson, but I was never as hateful as those who mealy mouth President Obama.

I am now reading Unbroken by Laura Hillebrand. She writes about Berlin in the 1936 Olympics. Jews are all ready being arrested and their property seized. Then I think about modern America where people hate Moslems, hate drug addicts, hate immigrants and the unemployed. The property of drug addicts is being seized and drug addicts fill our prisons.

Of Natural Resources is concentrating the agri business of pork farming by declaring pork farmers Felons for raising pigs, and piglets on their farms of heirloom parentage. they have declared them invasive species, and ordered the farmers to slaughter whole herds, which puts them out of business. There is nothing wrong with these pigs, just a targeted regulation to put small farmers out of business, and make the business proprietary to those that will put the profits in the hands of the big corps, and the farming where they have designated it. In the case of the breakdown of the society as we know it, it makes it easier to control who gets what to eat, too. It is scary how the regulators are using everything as a method of control to pick winners and losers. that is fascism, not freedom. It is being advanced faster and faster. You are so blind.

Thanks Glome for that little bit of information, it’s always been a bone of contention of mine that we haven’t gone into Zimbabwe to get rid of Mugabe, he is one nasty piece of work far worse than Saddam Husain was.
