Barack Obama may control America, but he doesn't control his wife, Michelle Obama. If anything, it's Michelle who wears the pants in the White House. Well, that's what tabloid newspaper National Enquirer wants you to believe. She supposedly went bonkers after discovering Jodi Kantor was writing a tell-all book called The Obamas. The book details the First Lady's loose fingers when it comes to cash.
An insider said, "Only a few weeks ago, Michelle threw a hissy fit when Barack sugÂgested that they spend their winter vacation at Camp David because a Hawaiian vacation would bring more attention to her reckless spending. But she went crazy and yelled that she wasn't going to spend two weeks in cold Maryland when Hawaii awaited—and he gave in."
Things are getting worse for the president at home, though, because the First Lady has gone after him for his inability to keep the White House staff in check. The source said, "She's convinced that his aides have been leaking embarÂrassing details about her because they believe her extravagant behavÂior is hurting his re-election campaign."
Well, that's strange. Why would Barack Obama's aides leak info about his wife if they think it'll hurt his campaign? Instead of blabbing her business, a one-on-one would be a better way to get her to stop spending. One of the things being exposed in The Obamas which really has Michelle steaming is criticism over her extravagant Alice in Wonderland Halloween White House party for military families and VIPs.
The source said, Malia and Sasha were thrilled during the party because Johnny Depp was dressed as the Mad Hatter and surrounded by "enorÂmous stuffed animals in chairs and tiered serving plates with treats like bone-shaped meringue cookies" during a Mad Hatter tea party.
Unfortunately, Barack Obama's aides keep the party under wraps in fear it would offend jobless Americans so "Depp's conÂtributions went unacknowledged." When press detailed the events that night, the President chastised them. The source said, "The president's reaction was too little, too late for Michelle. She lashed into him and said, 'I HATE this place!'"
Well, that's a lot to swallow, isn't it? No one wants their business told to the world. Plus, any amount of power can corrupt even the most well-meaning person. Despite the love of their loyal followers, President Barack Obama and Michelle Obama aren't immune to that corruption.

Why?
The psycho reich is outraged at the "secrecy" of the Party yet it was anounced on the White HOuse website, and Johnny Dep twitted it. Yet the psychos were ecstatic over the discovery TWO YEARS later.

I think that it is great that the family is so close knit. With so many families throwing their elderly away, it is refreshing to see a family who loves and includes their senior member. Isn't this what family is supposed to be about?

People are starving and homeless but all she cares about is what can this country (taxpayers) do for her? So, what makes us think that he can run this country?

I don't care who wears the pants in that family as long as they get out of the White House in Nov!.......Economy is NO BETTER, NO JOBS, Congress at a stand still and instead of doing his job as the president, hes off campaigning on the taxpayer dollar!

Actually it was 5 trips total, official trips to promote and raise awareness for GWB's HIV/AIDS funding program PEPFAR (President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief) which increased relief fourfold to $19B and helped over 1.1M aids victims. Michelle Obama loaded an Air Force 757 with 40 of her friends and staff to go to Spain on a private vacation (the taxpayers costs involved are all available if you Google it).
For the four day trip to Spain, hotel stay and all meals were paid for the the Obamas and their friends.
“Any additional footprint,” says a White House aide, “including additional rooms needed for security support, falls under the same rules as have applied to any previous first-family travel: the costs are split appropriately, with private expenses paid for privately; government expenses are paid for by the government.”
