Sarah Palin has been making more public appearances lately, attending a Tea Party rally in Madison, WI on Saturday, which once again raises the question: could Sarah win the Republican nomination and the presidency?
It seems when it comes to Sarah Palin, people either love her or hate her and that could be her biggest obstacle in a Presidential run; she would need to win all those in the middle if she has any hope of winning. She would have to hope voters take her seriously, but she might not be given the chance to ever talk about the issues.
When she was the Republican running mate of John McCain in 2008, she was forced to spend the majority of her time defending the fact she was a conservative woman, and as such, how could she possibly be as smart as a liberal woman, which led to her always defending any statements she made. It is no secret that the Left-leaning media deliberately tried their best to trip her up in interviews, asking her much more difficult questions than even the Presidential candidates, and for the most part she handled them well.
Sarah Palin was a fresh face in 2008, and she still has what todayÂ’s conservatives are looking for. At yesterdayÂ’s rally, she called out the Republicans and chided them for not trying hard enough to change things:
"What we need is for you to stand up, GOP, and fight. GOP leaders need to learn how to fight like a girl," she yelled. – NY Daily News 4/17/2011
This is what conservative America likes to hear, and she could also win those middle-of-the-roads who are disillusioned with the “hope and change” which has never materialized from the Obama administration. But she will have to fill out her fighting words with real policies and plans. Sooner or later this is what American voters will want to hear. Palin can hold her own against the press, but will she be able to stand up to those who actually pull the levers? Only time will tell.

Yep, why did the liberal media ask those extreeeeeme tough questions like what Newspapers she read or what Supreme Court rulings intrigued her? Bad Katie Couric and her tough questions.

SNL did a skit using her own words, verbatim! The best comedy writers could NOT make her sound MORE stupid than she does on her own.

But the Rude performance doesn't let Palin off the hook. She actually fumbled a question or two.
The overall, overriding reality of these Palin interviews & flubs, though, is one of "confrontation". "Attack". Oh, the appearance of "professional journalism" is maintained, but in truth Palin's conservatism had been judged, and all that was left was to deliver the sentence.
Yes, Rude, there are two Palins.
There is the caricature that you & your allies pin to the wall and throw darts at, spit on, even masturbate with.
Then there is the reality. Sarah Palin is a Political & Social "chess master", of a caliber unusual enough that many do not recognize it when it comes along.
She is not a bookish Rove, or a trendy Carville. She doesn't have a fine Ivory Tower intelligence, doesn't use classic scholasticism to pursue goals.
But she has very fine perception & comprehension, and has demonstrated devastating creative inspiration. She is the camoflaged American Revolutionary, firing from behind stone fences and hay stacks at ranks & files of Red Coats. Then running away to fight another day. "Coward!"
There are other personal & organizational attributes that Palin must have naturally or develop, to continue with her reprisal of Genghis Khan ... but if she can keep all the links of the chain strong (one weak link can be the end of such an upstart), she could indeed be a modern political Khan.
And of course, that's why some on the other end of the political spectrum from her, are losing their potty in they pants.
Hillary Clinton was also regarded as almost insuperably polarizing. Before she was prematurely regarded as crowned royalty.
Nobody knows what Palin will or won't do. Even she is waiting to see how a laundry-list of knowns & unknowns unfold.
Early polling - currently showing Palin falling behind - tells us remarkably little about how the campaign will really go.
Sarah Palin is an extremely innovative & free-thinking figure. She probably has more cards up her sleeve than any other figure in the game. She has the capacity, and a history of coming outa left field in a way that leaves her competition badly off-balance. She has done this several times.
If she does decide to run, her campaign will be a sensation.
If Sarah Palin put into what she does, what you put into this comment, she would be the prettiest waitress in Wasilla.
