Rush Limbaugh is on the attack after President Obama delivered his speech, and he is holding nothing back. On his Wednesday morning show, Limbaugh referred to the President’s speech as “a personal bitch slap” to the Republican party. Then on Thursday, Limbaugh called Obama “a vindictive little guy.”
Now, of course, Limbaugh is well known for slamming the Democrat’s party and President Obama, but now he is making it personal. Why did he call Obama’s speech a “personal bitch slap”?
According to Limbaugh, he thinks it was a low blow for Obama to invite Paul Ryan, who is a Republican from Wisconsin and the House Budget Committee Chairman, to sit on the front row during the George Washington University Presidential speech and then slam the Republicans left and right. Yes. Limbaugh is right that Obama and his advisers basically set up Paul Ryan to be slammed.
After the official invitation to Ryan, Obama “took issue with Mr. Ryan’s 2012 budget plan saying that it would ‘fundamentally’ change America’s social compact and harm seniors and the poor.” Now, don’t forget that just days before the speech, Obama personally stated that he was ready to “fundamentally change the United States of America.”
Paul Ryan was completely offended by Obama’s remarks and felt that the President was personally attacking him and the Republican party during his speech. Ryan stated that the speech was “excessively partisan.”
Well what in the world did Ryan, Limbaugh, or the Republicans expect from the President? Obama is a democrat; of course, he is going to be partisan. Did they think the President was going to be pro-Republican?
Yes, it would be wise for the President of the United States to tactfully stay more neutral on controversial issues, but really, he was following his own personal convictions. Can you blame him for that?
After calling the speech a “personal bitch slap” to Republicans, Limbaugh progressed to calling Obama a “vindictive little guy.” The controversial radio talk show host stated that the speech “was in no way presidential.” Limbaugh is really getting stirred up about the Obama speech, isn’t he?
The host also stated that he felt that the Obama speech revealed the President’s true character. Limbaugh stated, “Obama’s not a good guy. He’s a mean, vindictive little guy. He’s very cold.” The problem with the radio talk show host speaking this way about Obama is that these type of comments will only stir the Democrat’s fuel for the fire. Was this wise for Limbaugh to make these comments? Does he care what anyone thinks?

May 2007: Vice President Cheney stated: “Deficits don’t matter” (http://lei sureguy.wo rdpress.co m/2007/05/ 29/cheney- deficits-d ont-matter /)) ‘Reagan proved deficits don’t matter,” Dick Cheney told Paul O’Neill during a Cabinet meeting. “We won the (2002) midterms. This is our due.” We see that Dick and George have done a heckuva job. Remember, when they came in, the US had a surplus. I guess my expectations were a bit to high, I was think something along the lines of a President finding a responsiblity to be more about collaboration than partisanship when becoming elected. If I am not mistaken candidate Obama made the idea part of his run for the Presidency. But why should I be surprised is that what he did to the Surpreme Court Justice at last years State of the Union.
I gather that it is more important for partisanship to prevail than a civility and leadership. As much as former President Bush had limitation he did show a great deal more respect for Democrats and those who were very nasty in their partisanship that what President Obama is doing.
I see the value in partisanship, but there can be cooperation when the people show respect for others. I would say that this past week has not been one in which the President did anything to suggest he respect others or that he wasn't above using their respect for his office to demean them.
I wonder who believes the President's action this week will lead to better cooperation between the faction in Washington? Who beleives that lack of cooperation is good for the people of this country?
We could really use some real leadership in Washington at this point. But, whoever steps forward will be severly attacked and belittled and demagogued.
The Donald bad-mouths the President.
The President talks smack into an open mic.
TV and radio hosts red-meat topics & guests.
Bloggers & commenters dig their trenches.
Short on civil - but long on interesting. ;)
I hope it's not quite our last days, but ...
"May you live in interesting times" ;)
China's Ghost Cities are an interesting angle. (It's not practical for me to view the popular videos, but there are other sources.) I tend to agree with those who expect that when the time is right for Beijing, they will be populated and 'come online' ... tho there are risks/hazards.
ZeroHedge says China is playing SimCity. ;)
and I quote 'C H A N G E' what we got was CLINTON relics, OBAMA entire staff was based upon CLINTON old staffers now that's a joke.

So accurate!
Look at Social Security no increase for ELDERLY, for DISABLED, are you kidding me.
Yet these so called Washington, D.C., elites had no problems breaking their neck approving thier mamouth pay increase, such a joke.
Rush's job is to provide political entertainment based on the politics of the day. Obama is giving Rush more content than he can ever use. If Obama would not WILLINGLY provide the content, Rush would not have it to use.
Reminds me of the woman who complained about the man staring at her breasts. His response? "If YOU are going to put them on PUBLIC display, don't complain if we stare at them!"
Rush Limpaugh, of ALL people! Complaining about somebody else's rhetoric??
..and his minnions eating it up!!!
What next? Charles Manson complaining about crime?
Simply amazing!!!
Consider the source, and consider the comments.
I'm surprised they're not all on Oxycontin. Or maybe they are.
He doesn't have the intellect or the psychologica. strength it takes to be president.
The president is finally showing leadership and it's about time he popped those Republicans in the mouth. Limbaugh and Ryan got their wittle feelings hurt, good, do it again.
This mess about holding bills is ridiculous. Bills are in committee before going to the House for a vote, therefore, the bill can't be hidden unless conspiracy theorist believe GOP committee members were denied access to the bills.
As Patrick Moynihan said, "Everyone is entitled to his own opinion, but not to his own facts."
But of course Republicans are bastions of bipartisanship. Oh wait, they broke their own rule about posting bills three business days before votes. I guess neither party keeps its promises.
I'm talking about all the Republicans. The establishment Republicans are allowing the Tea Party to run them into the ground.
The Republicans goal is to disrupt government in any fashion. The only reason a budget bill was passed was it was down to the wire and both sides had to compromise. Republicans are more interested in giving oil companies billions in oil subsidies than helping the average citizen. They talk about lowering the deficit then they decide people and corporations need more tax cuts, they don't. Tax cuts create deficits.
They are more concerned with keeping their pockets lined with corporate money than protecting the environment for the future. Emissions from coal plants have been proven to be deadly but they do not care. And they're not the only ones. Spineless Democrats who want to hold on to their seats instead of doing what's right.
The only time in the last 20 years this country has had financial prosperity was when the Democrat in the white house worked with the Republicans in the House. Republicans who were around during the last shutdown warned this current group that it was a bad idea but they were still willing to shut it down. That's not governing, that's selfishness.
I hope every change the president gets he pops the Republicans in the mouth. He's been too nice to them since taking office. They're not willing to work with him, fine. It's time to take the gloves off and and get rough with them. Every. Single. Time.
If the Dems had had the balls and did what they were PAID to do last October, the Republicans would have had NO say in the matter AND there would be NO "down to the wire" today.
As far as I am concerned, ANYONE that gets PAID to do a job and does NOT do that job, is a THIEF, a CROOK, and a LIAR. Those Democrats happily took the pay and did not do the job. So, they HAVE NO JUSTIFICATION TO CRITICIZE THE REPUBLICANS IN ANY WAY TODAY.
of mean
It is really striking that some Liberals get so excited over certain 'figures of speech' that have been used by Conservatives, but overlook that 'their own' do the same, routinely.
You'd think they would celebrate the higher forms of language & communications skills, since Literary skills are at the heart & center of the Liberal Arts ... the intellectual center of their cultural universe!
"Political correctness" has metastasized on them.
Question #2: when was Rush ever NOT partisan?
Pot calls kettle black.
Obama is our current President. Show me a president who was nonpartisan 24/7. Got any? GWB? Clinton? Reagan? Nixon? GHWB? Ford? Ford was closer than most, maybe that's why he did not get re-elected.
The Republicans don't have a prayer of getting the White House as long as they are fighting amongst themselves.
That's about right, although a Limbaugh is a home-grown putrefaction.
It just simply runs.....
The good thing derived from Limbaugh's diatribe of the president and his administration, makes it abundantly evident that we all care about the political state of our country, or we would not be engaging in these debates and arguements. In a way, Limbaugh and people like him on both sides of any political issue, are doing us all an offhanded service, inasmuch as they stir our deep inner emotions and by doing so, encourage us to engage in such ideological issues we consider to be of importance. Thus allowing both sides of the issue to be throughly debated and heard.
I personally detest Limbaugh's type of rhetoric, however, I for one, admit that he is good at what he does, wether it be good as some view it or bad as others believe it to be !!!
My humble opinion on the tax issue is that we've played limbo with taxes too long and that it's time to tighten some wealthy belts, but that's for another discussion.
The heated rhetoric on all sides is what makes the political environment both stirring and venomous. I wish we could have passion with restraint, but apparently it's either all or nothing. Limbaugh and his ilk on both sides of the fence keep us involved (a good thing) but also set us against each other in very arbitrary ways (a bad thing). We all believe in a progressive tax system (I don't think anyone believes that the poor should pay a higher proportion of their income in taxes than the rich), we all believe in certain unalienable rights (that the government shouldn't reach in and take our businesses away for example), and we all believe in the freedom to talk about it. There's way more that we agree on than what we disagree on. But unfortunately, in order to keep us interested, we have to be kept at each others' throats.
A great deal of differences hunh. I have no idea what is going on in this government. I thought a promise of transparency was given. I prefer not to get my information from bias sources, but at this time have very little choice. Why is it when matters other than national security are being debated we can not actually have televisions broadcasting what is trully going on? I definatelly am against representatives making life altering decisions for me. I would walk, ride a bus, drive whatever it takes to get to a polling place to vote on these very important issues. Health care, taxes, wars etc. Majority rule versus special interest groups making the decisions. I am sure I will be called ignorant and other stuff but I want my vote to count. Count I follow you although I do not agree with you at least you are one voice of informative reasoning. All of you are very passionate about your views and discussing it gives me hope for a better towmorrow.
I am sorry about my spelling, but I have a limited education.
