Rush Limbaugh spouts off about Michelle Obama's fashion faux pas and his opinion about her weight again. He entertained a caller that named Laura from Bremerton, Washington.
Laura told Rush Limbaugh, "Every time I see her and they start talking about how fashionable she is and the colors she wears, I think about that old story, 'The Emperor's New Clothes.' Every time [Michelle] dresses in yellow, I keep expecting some little kid to pop up and say, 'She looks like a bowl of mustard.'"
The caller from Washington continued after first being mocked by Limbaugh. Does he mock everyone even his supportive callers? She stated, "She never seems to look classy. She never seems to wear her clothes with any finesse or flair. She just seems to march around like a lumberjack."
Is it appropriate to make fun of the First Lady of the United States? Even though politics may differ between people, it is never acceptable to toss crude comments and jokes toward the people who represent America. Yes, it is a constitutional right to have freedom of speech, but it is a matter of principle. Respect your leaders despite their political stance.
After all, the world is watching to see if there is unity in America's ranks. Obviously, there is no unity between democrats and republicans. It is all out war! However, let a foreigner come against Americans and everyone pulls together with unity. Republicans and Democrats are like bickering siblings.
Then the controversial talk show host went on to speak about Michelle Obama's lack of fashion sense. Limbaugh wanted to know why the media portrays the First Lady as a fashion guru. He is right about this. She is portrayed as a fashion trendsetter, yet you never see anyone wearing her specific outfits. She looks like a normal business woman and mother.
The caller sarcastically responded, "If they do it any other way, they're going to be marked as racist." Limbaugh touted that anyone who goes against Obama's policies is immediately branded as a racist.
Then Rush Limbaugh just couldn't resist chatting about his obsession with the First Lady's body. Should Barack Obama be jealous?
He said, "I shouldn't have to say it. Do you want me to talk about Michelle's shape? I'm not going to say what I think about her shape. I'm not sure what it is. I can't win this. There's no purpose here into getting into such detailed discussion and analysis of the First Lady's shape."
Couldn't Limbaugh wait more than a month before he called Michelle Obama fat again. He is still in hot water from last month about the same "fat" topic. Limbaugh mocked Michelle Obama's "Let's Move" weight loss and fitness program for children after he mocked her weight by saying she should lose a few pounds herself. She was the laughing stock of Republican debates after she was spotted chomping down on a plate of ribs at a restaurant.
How can Limbaugh really mock the First Lady when he certainly could use to lose a few 20 pounds himself?
Last month, he stated, "The problem is, and dare I say this, it doesn't look like Michelle Obama follows her own nutritionary, dietary advice. And then we hear that she's out eating ribs at 1,500 calories a serving with 141 grams of fat per serving... I'm trying to say that our First Lady does not project the image of women that you might see on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue or of a woman Alex Rodriguez might date every six months or what have you."
Well, Limbaugh you live in hot water. You might as well enjoy the stay.

The fact that he is a drug addicted two faced windbag only proves that there are people in this country who refuse to use their brains, and prefer to be told what to think, feel, and believe.
Heaven help us all.
Once she did that, then she is part of the arena that she inserted herself into. She wants to make herself the Obesity Czar ... and then nobody is supposed to comment when she goes scarfing down extravagently fatty food?
She decided to be part of the 'give & take' ... and she's going to handed some that ain't all sweetness & light. Neither she nor her supporters have much grounds for complaint.
If she wanted to be cloistered away from the action ... then she definitely made the wrong choices about how to be First Lady.
Interesting.
I think she might be a size or two bigger than she was when Obama ran for president. There is no way that she is a size 10, I can guarantee that, and it's very doubtful that she was during the 2008 campaign either. Aside from that, are you saying the average woman in America is slim?
I agree with Rush, she needs to practice what she preaches... Its ok for her to devour ribs but she wants the kids to eat rabbit food... She needs to go on the fat farm herself..
Honestly, Taking advice on those subjects from Rush Limpaugh of all people!
They haven't a clue how idiotic they sound.
No wonder Newt claims the nonsense that his political passion caused him to cheat. His idiots will believe anything!
This is the man who was illegally acquiring drugs - but that's okay. He had a "problem." If it was anyone else with this problem he would have been spouting off about how they should be in jail for the rest of their lives. But I guess the double standard works for him and the idiots who listen to him. Michelle Obama is a normal sized woman who has to face a world where being a size 10 is considered fat. She should be praised for her deeds, not her looks. I wonder what would happen if Eleanor Roosevelt was First Lady nowadays? It wasn't her good looks that got her praise, it was her good works. Give Michelle a chance.
Question: Is Rush Limbaugh a fashionable, great looking person?
Question: is obesity a problem in the United State of America?
Question: is mocking people who are willing to address the problem constructive?
Question: if you dislike Michele Obama's mode of addressing obesity, what's your alternative- pretending it is not there? "Privatizing" school cafeterias by replacing them with McDonald's franchises?
I would really really love to hear Rush's plan for dealing with American obesity, which costs us many lives and many billions of dollars annually.
How about it? Does the First Lady get to pick her battles ... then expect to get nothing but adoration? No sniping? No sass? And sure no smart ass?
Cutting food stamp allocations would be my guess. Kill two costs with one stone. This is the only country in the world were the poor are obese and last year Nancy Pelosi said that the best way to create jobs is to provide more funding for food stamps. It's no wonder this country is so fat.
A more realistic plan would be to change what the food stamp program recognizes as food. But that would really piss off the processed food industry, so don't look for any Republican votes for that one.
Just because that is how you feel does not mean we all have to go along with that. Respect is earned not given. At least if you want my respect you have to earn it.
I agree with that.
not stupid, just uninformed. It's a FACT, not an opinion. You will also note that I did not list the political parties of former first ladies, or use their names. In fact, my point was that first ladies of both political parties have found this non-elected job frustrating and miserable.
I did not intend my list of possible reactions to be an Insinuation. It came without names and without political parties and was intended to cover the past 220 years. You seem overly sensitive.
I would like to see Rush Limbaugh judged by the standards imposed on women in this country. I am a size 14, healthy, low blood pressure, strong, muscular with a fat behind and the ability to lift and carry 75 lbs. People call me fat all too often. I am proud of my body and I reject the insecurities placed on women by magazines that feature waif-models made of pure Photoshop.
When I age and become unattractive to men, I will be no less of a worthwhile person. Rush Limbaugh can take his stone-age gendered double standards to Hades with him, for all I care.
Michele Obama was filmed eating ribs. So what. I eat ribs too. I am not obese. neither is she. Grow up.
Rush is a big windbag, instead of bad mouthing Michell Obama he should support her effort to change the eating habits of the children in America.
here's another question for the Rush fans. Question: when did you ever hear Rush Limbaugh say anything compassionate about anybody? Compassion is a valid human emotion. Some might even call it a "Christian" emotion.
Well that's a plus, at least, since he does not live any christian values.
I personally don't like her taste in clothes at all.
I resent she has become the fat police here in the U.S, while handing out bags with candy to underprivlidged children. Wouldn't it have been better to include more nutritious snacks in there? I mean that would mean she practices what she preaches.....her decisions, she has to answer to them someday.
I don't follow her, I don't think she needs to be in our faces telling us what and how to eat.
I can't afford her choice of clothes.
The only thing I can say she looked very elegant in, is the ball gown she wore inauguration night, and that's about it. White is a color, I believe she should wear m ore often.
personally? I think she looks to 60's and htat isjust not my style.
As for Limbaugh? I don't listen to him, and have no clue except what I read on places like Gather, as to what he is saying.
He tells you want you want to hear, and laughs at you all the way to the bank. Hilarious how he is using you all, and you beg for more!
What ever happened to real political debate? We have some serious issues in this country, folks. Instead of discussing them, you all seem obsessed with the mundane. I guess that is all you are mentally capable of handling.
I defy you to name another president who was attacked on a daily basis - not just for his political actions or policies, but for every single thing he did or did not do - up to and including his wifes expensive shoes and the fact that he did not get a shelter dog.
Name one other president who was blocked from every single thing he did or tried to do by the other party. Name any other president who was called a liar on the floor of the senate. This goes way past dislike of his actions, into dislike of him, personally.
He has been called the Anti Christ, a usurper, not a citizen, and on and on. He has been publically disrespected as people feel that they no longer have to respect him, or the office he holds - not just media gadflys like Rush and Beck, but elected officials, as well.
Now,name the one difference between him and any other president.
Everyone in this country has the right to approve or disapprove of the president. That's our right. But when you go way past the bounds of politeness and respect for the office he holds, if not him, personally, that is not a given right.
Yes, I know. No one admits to be a racist. That doesn't change the fact that there are racists in this country. And in this discussion board, as well.
If you think Michelle Obama is fat, you probably aren't much acquainted with the female body. She is in her mid-forties and in good shape.
Somebody above mentioned Bristol Palin - it's the hypocrisy of it all. Family values groups routinely scold unwed mothers, but were all perfectly happy when Bristol announced she was "engaged" to the father of her baby. That was certainly a farce. It is just like Newt Gingerich talking about family values when he is a bald-faced adulterer and prances about with his wife who knew she was having an affair for years and years with a married man. When do you ever hear a family values group praise the Obamas as a devoted couple and excellent parents?
Limp Balls is in no position to offer fashion advice to anyone alive!
He reaks of stupidity.
