Former Congressman David Obey (D-WI) is calling for a movement to recall Scott Walker.
During a recent interview with MSNBC, Obey said that Walker has grown so abusive of workers' rights that a recall could be inevitable. At the same time, he acknowledged the fact that Wisconsin law will make it impossible to recall the state's embattled Republican governor for another year, according to Real Clear Politics.
The website UnitedWisconsin.com claims to have collected more than 100,000 signatures on a Letter to Recall Scott Walker. Those names won't count towards the 540,208 signatures that need to be collected for a successful recall effort. Still, the petition's success is an early sign that the dream of ousting Walker could soon become a reality.
For now, the Wisconsin Democratic Party is focusing its efforts on an effort to Recall the Republican Eight, a group of eight GOP state senators who support Walker's controversial policies.
If the Scott Walker recall fails, Wisconsin's governor will likely serve out all four years of his term. Given the train wreck that has been his first two months in office, it is hard to imagine this guy leading any state for that long.
