The president of Planned Parenthood had some things to say in regards to Republican-backed attacks on the organization. When Cecile Richards was addressed for an interview regarding the situation she stated, “Going after the strongest brand in women’s health in America is one of the stupidest things the Republican Party could have done."
This of course is common sense for anyone who knows that Planned Parenthood provides far more than abortion services. In fact, losing funding would be to the detriment of thousands, if not millions, of moderate to low-income women and girls. Two weeks ago the bill to cut funding to Planned Parenthood was approved by the Republican-heavy House, but may not pass through Senate, thankfully.
Planned Parenthood is under attack by religious fanatics, the far-right and pro-life interest groups, but the curious thing about the entire fiasco is that Planned Parenthood's 300,000 estimated yearly abortions (nationwide) only make up about a quarter of abortions that are carried-out in the US.

Why pay for Women's reproductive health services when we can give billions to oil companies?
We have to have some priorities here.
Nobody wants to pay taxes or offer any help to people in need, but when they're down they scream loudly for them government funds to help them. And I can name a few places that offer abortions that accept welfare allocated funds that also provide abortions, but nobody goes after them.
it's all hypocrisy
