Will Barack Obama ban guns? Sarah Palin thinks he would [VIDEO]

I remeber when the NRA LIED about our old Governor claiming he was opposed to hunting. Cecil Andrus was an avid hunter and fisherman and every Idahoan knew it.
Gun rights have nothing to do with it. Attacks are spawned by the person's political party.

I don't think that gun rights are at play here either. It seems to be about fear which bothers me.

1. Goodwin Liu believes that our rights are constantly evolving. The Second Amendment might have been necessary in the 1700s, he believes, but now those rights are no longer necessary. Judicial candidate from Obama.

2. Just last year in a brief to the Supreme Court, Holder argued that “the Second Amendment did not protect an individual right to keep and bear arms,” that it only protected government militias’ rights to guns. He claimed that the Second Amendment posed no obstacle to implementing gun bans.

After months of waiting in vain for gun control supporters in Congress to take aggressive action against semi-automatic firearms, gun shows and NRA-supported restrictions on the abuse of instant background check records and firearm trace information, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg is urging President Obama to make 40 changes to federal gun law interpretation and enforcement on his own-without congressional approval. Titled "A Blueprint for Federal Action" and released only in response to requests under the Freedom of Information Act, the 51-page Bloomberg battle plan takes another cue from the military in calling for its mission to be carried out jointly by seven federal departments and agencies: the departments of State, Justice and Homeland Security, the FBI and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), the White House Office of Management and Budget and the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The first six agencies are wholly under President Obama's command, while the CPSC is an independent agency headed by commissioners nominated by the president.

I guess my thing is that I don't see any of these as a big problem. I happen to agree with Holder on this. I don't want 'everybody' to have guns. Most people never actually need them to defend themselves. What would happen if guns were banned? IMO, we'd be safer.

My wife thought the same thing until she moved from New York to Texas. Now she "gets it".

1. banning guns would only take guns away from the people that are following the rules. Bad people would still have guns. Think of shooting fish in a barrel. Do you think an ex-felon would turn in the guns because they asked? lol. The good side would be at a severe disadvantage.

2. That little thing called the Constitution keeps getting in the way of Obama's plan. Our founding fathers knew it was imperative to give the rights to bear arms in order to protect yourself and your property. It is a fundamental right.

3. I have not had to pull my weapon on someone but I have friends that are women that have. One time a guy just jumped in her truck and told her to drive...right after he saw the end of the barrel of a .45 and chose to get out.

I suppose, without the Constitutional issue involved, it is better to be prepared than not. I hope I never have to use my gun on someone, but if I do, at least I know my family and myself will be safe.

I went to pick up my rifle that had a broken firing pin replaced and as I was waiting, I overheard the clerk and a customer discuss how to circumvent the law. The gun purchaser could NOT purchase a gun over a little wife beating (he actually admitted this)so he brought a friend to purchase it for him. The Clerk told him about an upcoming gun show where customers bring in their old guns to swap or sale and where they are NOT licensed dealers, they can sell him any kind of weapon they have so that next time he has a minor disagreement with his wife.....,

We were ALL scared of Bill Clinton's new law that required background checks. Even though I have NO criminal record I was afraid a shooting I had with robbers would come back to haunt me. I bought some guns before the new law came into effect.
Sure enough when I bought another gun and went through the background check, took less than 5 minutes, there was NOTHING to prevent me from purchasing my new deer rifle.

IF the NRA was serious about gun rights, THEY WOULD YELL AT THE TEABAGGERS TO QUIT THREATENING THE GOVERNMENT!!!!!

We came unarmed this time?

Yes I own several assault rifles and thousands of rounds for these weapons BUT my enemy is NOT the government, it is the right wing extremists,kkk, Aryan Nations, Christian Identity you name it (I live in Idaho)

Look at the Hutaree's, They planned on killing cops so that NOBODY could stop them from slaughtering minorities, gays or somebody who had a perfect mastery of the English Language.

Steve is right. Palin is an opportunist with the character of a sewer rat. She's just smart enough to tailor her message to whatever particular paranoia her audience is tuned into. She'll say whatever they want to hear, then grab her exorbitant "speaking" fee and jump in the private jet to the next paycheck. She's discovered that babbling nonsense to the various cracked conservative choirs is profitable and she's willing to take them for all she can get. Someday they'll wise up but it will be far too late. By then she will have laughed her way to the bank time and time again and left nothing in her trail but words she never meant, promises she never felt compelled to keep, and an act that she will shed when it stops drawing crowds of rubes to pour their nickels and dimes into her hat.

My sister asked me back in November whether I was "one of those liberals who hate Sarah Palin." My answer was that I thought her particular brand of fear-mongering stupidity was dangerous, but that it wasn't hate-worthy.

I might answer her differently today, substituting "despise" for "hate."

And TexRock... nothing you said is relevant. Lawyers argue the side they're paid to argue. That's why we all make fun of lawyers. Mayor Bloomberg is they mayor of New York... not a presidential advisor.

I don't hate her, but I don't want her to be a serious contender.

Facts will never get in the way of Sarah peddling her message of fear and hate of anybody or anything not Sarah.

You said "Sarah Palin" and "thinks" in the same sentence. That's the ultimate oxymoron.

First it should be stressed that "right to carry" States have lower crime rates than States that don't have those laws. Second, Our weapons are to protect us against the Government and the criminal element amongst us! Third, Holder is an educated man with an uneducated opinion! Frightening!

Your right to own a gun is a right that was considered by our founding Fathers to be critical. Today Liberals make us understand why we need this right more than ever!

That and the Supreme Court ;)

without having read the comments, here is my view. Barack Obama is not dumb enough to pursue a losing hand of cards on gun control with the dozens of massive real challenges that he actually has an outside chance of WINNING. In a perfect world, would he like to see a USA without guns being sold out of car trunks on every corner? Sure. Is he going to act on that urge? NO.

Case closed, let's stop wasting time discussing this. It's stupid.

There is no limit to the super left ideals that Obama wouldnt try in my opinion. Gun control is high on his list and just because you find it stupid, doenst make it so.
