Limbaugh needs a researcher, he keeps screwing up.

Rush Limbaugh took a shot at the United Mine Workers today on his show:

"Was there no union responsibility for improving mine safety? Where was the union here? Where was the union? The union is generally holding these companies up demanding all kinds of safety. Why were these miners continuing to work in what apparently was an unsafe atmosphere?"

Uh, Rush, you need a researcher, a fact checker, somebody to read your crap before you blurt it out on the air. Here's the deal. Massey Energy, the Coal Giant that ran the the Upper Big Branch Mine, is a non-Union shop. Hey Rush, the UMW tried to organize the Big Branch Mine three times, but Don Blankenship, the Massey Energy boss, threatened the miners that he would personally shut down the mine if they had voted in the Union.  The miners did indeed have safety concerns, and in retrospect those concerns appear to have been well founded. Methane explosions are preventable. But Blankenship threatened them with unemployment. The Miners unfortunately backed down, and now 29 of them are dead.

Good thing that Blankenship won and the UMW lost, huh Rush? You stupid clown.
