Republicans Are Not Swayed

As I read through article after article about Obama pushing for a health care takeover that the majority of American's don't want, I'm pleased when I see the words, "Republicans are not swayed."Â I'm glad that someone is paying attention to what Americans want and don't want.
Â
We know what Dr. Ron Paul says about big government and about the proposed health care takeover. We can't help but know, since his remarks are all over the TV and blogosphere. And most of us know that he is a medical doctor.
Â
In this article - Obama Turns Up The Heat For Health Care Overhaul - we find the words of another doctor, retired MD, Rep. Parker Griffith.
Â
"It's not too late: We can, and we must, stop this government takeover of health care," said Rep. Parker Griffith, a retired physician and a first-term congressman from Alabama who switched parties in December and delivered the GOP message.
Â
Griffith said leaders of the Democratic Party he left last year were missing the point.
Â
"For them, health care reform has become less about the best reforms and more about what best fits their 'Washington knows best' mentality — less about helping patients and more about scoring political points," he said. "This is no idle observation. I've witnessed it firsthand."
Â
My thoughts exactly. While Democrats once claimed that the "reform" they wanted was about covering everyone and about reducing cost, they can no longer make that claim. What they propose raises costs - in health care, in premiums and in taxes. So why are they still pushing it? Because they want that control over our lives. It's about control, plain and simple.
