Another shame spiral of events from silly Sarah Palin spun out of control this past week. And the former vice-presidential candidate and governor of Alaska is probably too retarded to realize the repercussions.
Earlier last week she went pitbull-in-lipstick on Obama's Chief of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel, for comments attributed to him in a Jan. 26 Wall Street Journal article. According to the NY Post, "he called plans by liberal groups to run ads against moderate Democrats 'F—ing retarded.'" The "f-word" or "moderate," surprisingly, were not the offensive word, but, of course, "retarded."
Calling for Emmanuel's resignation in the most forthright and reasonable course that any enraged great political mind would seek, Palin took to Facebook.
“I would ask the president to show decency in this process by eliminating one member of that inner circle, Mr. Rahm Emanuel, and not allow Rahm’s continued indecent tactics to cloud efforts,†Palin said the Facebook note titled “Are You Capable of Decency, Rahm Emanuel?.â€
Saturday she delivered the keynote address at the Tea Party movement convention, in Tennessee. "'The current form of this movement is fresh and young and fragile. Let us not get bogged down in small squabbles. Let us get caught up in the big ideas,'" The Wall Street Journal quoted from her speech at the convention. The event hosted a little over a thousand activists but paid the former vice-presidential candidate a hefty sum guessed at amounts up to $100,000.
Its a shame any dollar amount was wasted on the former governor's oration skills, as the Huffington Post revealed that the diva, often depicted as ditzy, had jotted some notes on her hand to get through the Q & A. "Closer inspection of a photo of Sarah Palin, during a speech in which she mocked President Obama for his use of a teleprompter, reveals several notes written on her left hand. The words 'Energy', 'Tax' and 'Lift American Spirits' are clearly visible. There's also what appears to read as 'Budget cuts' with the word Budget crossed out."
In an interview Fox News Sunday's Chris Wallace the next day, Palin reflected on her already gentle treatment of right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh's use of the same word she blasted Rahm Emanuel for, and defended Limbaugh's usage.
"They are kooks, so I agree with Rush Limbaugh. [He] was using satire ... . I didn't hear Rush Limbaugh calling a group of people whom he did not agree with 'f-ing retards,' and we did know that Rahm Emanuel, as has been reported, did say that. There is a big difference there," she explained.
Because they are "kooks" its okay to call them "retarded." Then what word do you use for "Republican?" Boy, is she kooky.
