As long as we continue to wanna this, or wanna that, civilization on this planet will continue to decline, and we will be increasingly unhappy.
The bastardization of a society's language is the first sign of the society's demise. When we as a people lose sight of all standards of decency, and of excellence, we will continue to decline, we will come to naught, and in time will be replaced by something better.
The first to go is our language, then our institutions, then our principles. What now, is left. We have turned our backs on God. We have hit bottom; there is no where else to go but up.
Neither church, nor temple, nor mosque can save us. Government has failed us, we can no longer trust our banks or big business. Our economy is in a shambles, employment is not guaranteed, our educational institutions no longer educate. We no longer win wars; everybody loses. We wallow in our ignorance and our godlessness.
So where are we gonna go, what do we wanna do? It's up to us. The answer is out there.

(or just some sunshine???)
I imagined Thomas wearing burlap and sitting in ashes, and eating locusts, and Gather is his wilderness to cry out into.
(but then maybe that's just me and my imagination)
ha ha
Interesting take on things, although a tad bit more on the pessimistic order than I might think of it! Feeling low today? This too shall pass!
I agree with Greg. God does work in mysterious ways and I think it will all work out in due time but it is our kids and grand kids I worry about most.
I put it in the Lords hands.
Happy St Patty's Day.
Do you use contractions? Would you call those bastardization? I hope not because they aren't.
I do believe that you should be aware that all languages change. And that those persons present during the changes usually feel the world is going to hell in a hand basket! But none of us can stop the changes that come along, were doing good if we can only keep up with what the heck they are even talking about.
But if languages didn't change, we'd still be speaking Greek or Aramaic. And regardless how much we detest it at times, it will work out. There is noting sacred about the language with which we grew up. I'd hate to have to read the language of Shakespeare on a regular basis! In fact, he was none too sure of it himself, having twenty five different spellings for his name!
And someday, people will be looking at the new language which has developed and watching it change, bemoaning the loss of their good old language! I like to think of our language as a very precise thing with innumerable nuances needed to fulfill the breadth of expression possible. But that is only my antiquated and romanticized concept which will, in the long run, never hold water for long! So grit your teeth, learn all you can of the new and prepare to live with less and less of the old.
I certainly understand that!
