Try out the Republican Apology Machine and "apologize like the pros". You too can put together an apology to Rush Limbaugh just as good (or better!) than Michael Steele's. Try it yourself. Have fun!

Thanks Carla, that was funny.
Even funnier is that Lush Rimblimp thinks that a highly intelligent man such as Barack Obama would even consider debating a moron like Lush.
And there should be no need to apologize to a comedian for criticizing his bombastic tasteless comedy.
Carla, I believe that all of us hear what we want to hear. I listen to Rush regularly, and find some things I agree with and some I don't. I have heard Rush discuss this issue over and over and over, and never once did he say--and he actually went OUT OF HIS WAY TO REPEAT--"I do not want Obama to fail. I believe his policies are bad for the country. Given that those policies are bad for the country, I want those policies to fail. Not the man, the policies."
Based on your comments here on this discussion area, let me ask--put yourself on the other side for a minute. You are being interviewed for national media and were asked, "Are there any policies of George W. Bush that you would like to see fail?", how would you answer? Would you say, "Nope, he's my president, I want him to succeed," knowing that you were now endorsing everything George Bush stood for? I would hope your answer would be "Of course not." And I'm willing to guess that because of the simplicity of language, you would much more likely say, "I want George Bush to fail." It's a lot easier than getting into the details of "I want this to work, this to fail, this to work, this to fail..." and so on.
I'm very conservative and there were many things George Bush did that I WANTED HIM TO FAIL IN DOING! And just for the record there were many times George Bush did things that Rush was the first to point out, "I want this to fail. I want it to crash and burn!"
So let me ask you--was there ever a point between 2000-2008 when you would have said, "I want George Bush to fail"? I would have. And I am old enough to say that I would have said the same thing about every president back through Reagan, when I first started voting. There were also times when I would have said, "I want the president to succeed." Depending on the president, the number of times I would be on each side might vary, but that doesn't change my point.
Ken, in answer to your question, "No, I never wanted Bush to fail. Why? Because whenever a President fails in his policies we all get hurt. It's not about politics for me but about doing what is right for this country and the world. I did not agree with many of the policies of Bush, but I never hated him nor did I want to see him fail.
As for Limbaugh, I disagree also. It is not only his comments that are often offensive but his demeanor and pompositiy in how he expresses himself. He is not a humble man nor one who has much compassion for others.
President Obama has a few more important things on his agenda right now........no time for a pizzin' contest with Jabba the Hut!
Regarding Rush Limbaugh, University of Pittsburgh political scientist David Barker says Limbaugh is remarkable in that he is so persuasive, even though he is lying.
Barker says that Limbaugh goes beyond rhetoric (convincing a person to adopt a view by giving new information) to using heresthetics (frame an argument to appeal to core values). In other words, he calls a value to the attention of a listener at the expense of a competing one. "You believe "B," you can't believe "A" or you’re a hypocrite.
For example, by touting economic freedom and self-reliance rather than humanitarianism and equal-opportunity, Limbaugh was able to convince people that it was moral to cut federal spending for social programs.
You'll notice Limbaugh seldom debates anybody. He only takes calls from listeners on Friday and his callers are carefully screened. Despite appearing well educated, Limbaugh flunked out of his freshman year at Southeast Missouri State University.
The effect of this conservative initiative is staggering. A 1996 survey showed that 24 percent of radio listeners hear a political talk show at least once a week.
In 1981, there were 82 all-talk stations in the USA. By 1995 there were 1,308. By 2000, 400 conservative talk shows were on the air. By 2003, there were 1,700. Yet, there were only 40 talk shows classified as liberal or moderate.
It points perfectly to the bankruptcy of the Republican Party.
We can exit the wilderness just as soon as we acknowledge the leadership of a drug-addicted bloviator.
