Barack Obama has announced to the press that he has selected a running mate but is keeping his lips sealed for now. Thursday night he called people on his shortlist to tell him they had not made it into the vice president slot. According to the state's health department, a baby dies every 43 hours in the country. Most babies born are black, poor and die from premature births. Their mothers are often young and unmarried.
