This actually makes a lot of sense. In many ways, there are actually more political messages to be taken from this than most people realize. The system of coupon comrade, in which socialism is almost made a reality, is one poignant marker of this.

It would appear to me that in the US people are much more politically charged than here in the UK. For instance it is a General Election in two weeks time and except from a few posters there has hardly been any canvassing or publicity to encourage votes for any of the parties.
